Results generally went Rovers’ way today, although Crawley bounced back 4-0 v Newport. If they were no better than they were on Friday it suggests Rovers are far and away the best team in the league. But I don’t think so!
However, it cannot be dismissed and it does encourage the belief that Rovers could actually be the best team in League 2 right now. It seems sensible to recognise that the Form Table can only relate to superiority over the teams which we have met in the period and the performances put up on the day.
Wrexham are regarded as a cunning bunch of experienced and skilful professionals who will create a psychological challenge to go with their undoubted ability. Their last 2 away games have been 3-1 wins against in-form Morecambe, who had a man sent off early in the second half when they were drawing, and Grimsby. Prior to that they could only manage a draw at Forest Green and were generally poor away from home .
So they will bring a big following which they have had going way back when travelling fans were relatively rare. I particularly remember how fervent they were as they stood amongst us in the 50s at the Rossington end.
So they are bound to be there in numbers and being Welsh they will be loud.
If we can reproduce our best form I think we might even win comfortably and I’m going the boldly suggest 3-0 with Molyneux/Ironside to score the first.,
DPL v Wrexham

I think Nookie may be right that 5 in a row might not be possible. However, I'll stay optimistic - but not as much as Donaldo - and say Rovers 2 Wrexham 1. Whoever starts of Ironside and Biamou to score the first. If the starting eleven is vastly changed, I might change all that.

Rovers 1-2 Wrexham
Biamou to score ⚽

I thought he'd start Biamou - some of us seem to have the same confidence in him.

This is going to be one tough game. I'll say 2-1to Rovers. Biamou with the first.

Greetings Peks. I see you're a Rapid Vienna fan amongst others. I lived quite close to their ground at one point. Good luck to your teams this season.

Amazing - five in a row, four with clean sheets. Just wish we had taken more of our chances.
Saturday will be a challenge with our two first choice centre-backs not available. However, Olowu did better than I expected. Morecambe have let in more goals than we have this season...but, of course, have scored more.
It was good to see a crowd of over 10,500, with 8307 being Rovers' fans.

Yes, that's an excellent crowd. Must have been a great atmosphere.

Timmy's save at the end almost like Banks v Pele. Hopefully Woods injury wasn't concussion and just a cut and he's able to play against Morecambe. Still big odds against making the play offs. But like Rovers all season, who knows?

It was a less comfortable win than it could have been if good chances had not been missed. I think too that confidence was lost midway through the second half allowing Wrexham to take the initiative. Perhaps if we had kept up our attacking, the defence would not have had the kind of pressure that led to Wood's bad cut.
