Nothing is in the bag

We are Tottenham. History of failure. Only dumb fans who like to talk big think our league position is secure. It's a shame there are so many Spurs fans who act like they have won everything and carry a delusional arrogance which makes them believe they can predict the future lol

The Strike and Fridges of this world...

Oh and our postponed Chelsea game has been re arranged after the NLD on Thrusday 2nd May. Then we go to Anfield on Sunday.

Nothing is ever in the bag.

5th and Europa ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As long as it’s Europe proper and not that Europa Conference nonsense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"My hopes for every season are Top4 and/or a Trophy."

Are you going soft

In August, all things considered and having no clue whether Ange would be Aussie gold or Kangaroo Poo, i would have put top 6 as a very decent result.

We had a season where Son looked in decline, Richy scored 1 goal was it? the defence needed major surgery and let in 63, Kane hit 30 goals and we still ended 8th.

The issues were massive and i am delighted that Ange has had such a massive impact on the quality of our play but also getting results.

It would be interesting to know where we'd be now if the fall out from that Chelsea game was different. The big injuries and suspensions put a handbrake on and we're only just getting back to where we were then. Not enough to keep us in a title mix because the squad needs refreshing and adding to but may be much safer in 4th and miles ahead of United.

What i like about what i am seeing is that it is a clear plan and approach and one that is working and will work better over time and as we add more quality. If you compare that to say United, under Hag, their first season they did well but the style was counter attacking, not dominating or aggressive, and that is never a long term solution in this league, and they're being shown up this season with a lack of a true progressive style.

We have an approach and everything we do on the pitch in training and in the windows is centred on making that work better and better.

Season 1 is the first step so like you, and given where we are now, qualifying for one of top 2 European comps is a must, but must be considered as at least slightly better than most expected in August.

Ok. I don’t actually see any plan, but that’s just me.

I guess we could still finish on a high points total and not get top 4 and would accept that. Villa would have to play out of their skin for the remainder of the season for that to happen.

There are things that have gone against Ange such as being a new manager trying to implement a new style and the injuries near the end of last year, but also things that have gone for him such as the lack of fixtures relative to other teams and the money spent. Losing Kane was disappointing, but you look at the team of players we still have and I think most of us would say it's a strong selection of first team players.

After the strong start we had and the position it's brought us to, and now having our full team back for the past few weeks, you'd have to say he should be getting top 4, all things considered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a fair point and the challenge Ange will have is to have us finishing strong. Something historically we never do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember we finished quite strong when we first got top 4. Didn't we beat Arsenal and Chelsea at home back to back?

Even with the tough fixtures we have Burnley and Sheff United at the end. They could be all but relegated by then making those 2 fixtures better than we could hope for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets just try to beat Forest first and see where we go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That wont be easy. Fighting for points. A decent outfit really who i think would be further up the table if not for some awful ref decisions plus their points deduction. Still a bottom third team who we should beat but a real banana skin IMO

I can't get that excited about finishing 5th just because it might come with CL qualification. 5th is still 5th and despite the improvement season on season, Spurs are not a great side.. We are light years behind those who actually belong in the top tier of European football with a realistic chance of winning it.

Personally, Id rather have had this season end with Spurs finishing 7th & winning the FA Cup.

I don't look at finishing above the shambles than is United, Chelsea etc as some reason to celebrate.

I want to see Sonny lifting a trophy not be bragging about how much extra money the club will make from being in the CL or having a great stadium only for us to continue with loan signings while we are forced to sell our greatest assets who quite rightly care about winning, not balance sheet success.

Winning on the pitch comes 1st. Finishing 5th aint winning !
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree with this 100%.

An entire generation of fans have had it forced down there throats that Top 4 is all that matters. It's utter tripe.
As a Villa fan I want silverware 1st and foremost. League Cup, FA Cup, Conference, Europa. I'd like to have great runs in all these competitions and god knows we need silverware, as bad as Spurs and Newcastle. Going out in Cup competitions always stings more.

We’ve had neither, so your point is moot.

I fully expect Spurs to make top 5, If you don't mind me saying so .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Knock yourself out 😂

Tbh I don't like that fact lizards like Strike and Fridge support the same team as me. They remind me of idiots in the stands at matches. Caaants who are love the sound of their own voice thinking they know the world and his dog.

Boy oh Boy...... I have to agree with the poster Luka here...but...I think enough is enough. Some of the posters on here are little schoolboys, under age, who know no better than to think their team is the Bees Knees.
This notice board is a spectrum of Spurs supporters, and "others". Take it, or leave it! It IS what it IS. .....

My money is on 6th... Dunno whether its an utter failure given we lost Kane & the football is better Vs last year but Spurs are nothing special..... Basically "also rans" who play nice football in a fancy stadium

By Diamond Lights earlier in this thread.

This is the best description of Tottenham Hotspur I’ve read in ages. Absolutely spot on.
