Poor Substitute

Firstly I just wanna say its quite refreshing that the guys who run this site allow the banter but slap the muppets who write pash on here all the time ludge, ...toe , and finbar with a bit of luck!. Add that to the fact they don't mind popping in from time to time to answer a couple of questions and it makes it quite decent.
Anyways onto my main points. Do you think that these arranged friendlies with Lpool and Hamburg will be of any use. Im just seeing it as an opportunity for injuries, kinda like any time Scotland plays if im being honest. What's your thoughts

After being knocked out of Europe, its surely a money making exercise.

Sadly something we have to do, playing in Europe would have been far more straining on the squad.

Needs must im afraid.

We need the cash and on a plus side it'll give the fringe players ie: Ness ,Perry,Healy,Weir, Barkley a run out.

agree renegade its purly to make money. I also like the fact we support our fans and ex pats in Germany. But that said it worries me that add that to the european qualifiers and given we don't have a large squad it could come back and bite us on the erchie.

I've heard it a good few times that we have a small squad but can't help but feel we have plenty of players, except up top.

Alexander gk. Broadfoot, McMillan rb. Weir, Perry, Bartley cb. Wallace/Papac lb. Mids - Bedoya, McKay, Ness, McCulloch, Bendiksen, Kerkar, Ortiz. Forwards - Healy, Fleck, Hemmings.

For me its only up top that we don't have much cover.

These friendlies should be a good opportunity for some of the youngsters.

We are a business. We need revenue. As has been said, due to lack of European football, these friendlies are necessary. They are no more dangerous... probably less... than if we WEre playing additional games in Europe. Good for the fans... good for the team... good for the club. Injuries can happen anywhere... friendlies are safer than 'competitive' matches in SPL and Europe.
