My expectations go alongside how long a manager has been at Spurs
For Ange (on field)
Year 1: average 1.8 points per game and a cup quarterfinal
Year 2: average 2 points per game and a cup Semifinal
Year 3: average 2.3 points per game and a final
Ange is ahead in terms of league performance but our exit at League Cup was disappointing.
Off-field he's been a incredible. Trying to change the ethos of fans, players and coaches.
If Ange stays for 4 years. I think Year 3 is where we stand the best chance of getting a trophy and challenging for top 2.
Expectations in Numbers

Why do you think you’ll do better in the league next season than this season? Considering you’re a shoe in for European football that’s going to test your squad significantly more than this season don’t you agree?

The squad will be added to.
This season we have also suffered from big gaps between matches.
The depth needs improving but it doesn't necessarily follow that Europe = worse league performance.
Villa and west ham doing better this season than last season.

I agree with you OP with the caveat that cups are luck of the draw.
In both cases we had little luck this season. 3 prem teams and City came at the peak of our injuries.

I think expecting an improvement in the league next season, even if it's small, might be fair. It will have been more time for Ange to have got his style across, some players should be naturally getting better with age, you would think we'll be less unlucky with injuries, no AFCON or Asian Cup next year, and also you'd hope there'd be signings and the team will be more shaped to how Ange wants it.
If we aren't improving in the league then we at least have to do much better in the cup competitions, possibly winning one of them.

I actually think we are performing as we should be. I do not buy the nonsense that we are over performing.
I think we are unlucky the top 10 in the league are the top 10 for penalties received (with weirdly sheffield united taking our spot) yet we are bottom for penalties received with just one. Strange because we have the most touchest in the opposition area
Everybody has excuses..... team building (us/chelsea), injuries (yanited, liverpool, chelsea, brighton have had worse injuries than us), tiredness and extra games (every member of the top 10 in the league have extra games apart from us who have played the least amount of games since 04/05)
We arguably could be underperforming in the league when you consider the rest of the top 10. Even Chelsea disaster season are in a final and semi final.

Doubt next season there will be a period of games whereby we are playing 4 FBs in a back four.
Also doubt we have a spell of injuries and suspensions as unlucky as we had this season after the Chelsea game.
Hoping we continue to improve under Ange.

Of course not mate but again its a bit of media spin because Big ange is liked.
Davies is a centre back not a makeshift one, he played there for Swansea back in the day, Wales consistently as centre back and for us under every manager he has played there. So he is not a full back playing there.
You had Brighton playing a centre mid at right back consistently, newcastle playing their third choice keeper. Big ange gets no criticism because he is liked.
I like him i would not want anyone else in charge but he should never be immune to criticism.

That's true. Other than that would expect a top 5 team to make QFs in most domestic competitions unless we face higher ranked teams like City or Liverpool.

Ange is also learning about the team. Tonight showed we need a quality screen for the CBs. Bissouma doesn't have football IQ. He's an instinctive tackler which aren't the best attributes for a 6. We need someone that reads the game.
Ange will improve the team

I think he may improve the team but I think when you throw in CL football you will find the PL season much harder.
