Good morning,
Heart rate just about dropped to normal after yesterday but after a much anticipated "biggest in years" game finished we ended up with more questions than answers.
So how does the game leave things. Both teams could claim they are in the driving seat with an advantage for the run in.
The result ensures that if Rangers win on Wednesday vs Dundee we go top by 2 points with all games equal. An unthinkable position when Beale was sacked earlier this season where we were 7 points behind and an absolute shambles. It means for Rangers a win at Parkhead in the last OF and the fat lady can start warming up assuming they take care of the games beforehand. A huge incentive.
Equally, Celtic would have been delighted to come out of the game yesterday without a defeat. Their points are banked and even potentially 2 points behind they have the last OF at home where their record is strong in this fixture. With the experience they have getting over the line and winning leagues they will feel pretty comfortable for the last sprint. It should help that 4/6 of their games are at home whilst 5/7 of ours now are away.
Personally can't call it. Do I see this Rangers team going to Parkhead and winning? Probably not. But then again every one of them would have bit your hand off for that scenario back in early October and in a one off game like that anything can happen.
And you could argue that whilst both teams would take a point yesterday, the manner of the outcome probably gives Rangers more of a lift than Celtic for the last game. Throwing away 2 leads, particularly one so late on, isn't the kind of thing we have seen from Celtic in these fixtures in recent years. As good as they were first half, second half was a total collapse and an indication that maybe this Rangers team have a bit more about them than previous years and Celtic have a bit less.
Anyway, a proper title race that could go either way for the first time in about 13 years. Bring it on.
Btw thought Beaton had a great game yesterday under a lot of pressure. Fair play.
Advantage?

Bit of a tangent, but does anybody else think it's beyond stupid that tonight's CL QF ties kick-off at the same time? I've generally very little interest in the CL these days, BUT would make an exception for Arsenal/Bayern and Real Madrid/City ... except they both start at 8pm, so need to choose one. Bit daft for the premier club comp in football.

Celtic favourites for me given they have the last old firm game at home. I worry about the Dundee game too, even Clement is getting involved in the disruption talk now when he should be sticking to the "focused on the game plan" mantra. Just don't feel like the concentration will be there in that game.

Meh, the football calendar is chocca. Who wouldn't plump for the best two teams in the world serving up a 3-3?

I’d have thought it strange had they kicked off at different times to each other.
Happy as I was in a bar with both games showing. 10 superb goals and all teams all to play for. Fantastic.
