Thoughts from last night

I couldn’t watch the match I was on a moonlight hike across Holland trying to get home after helping lady at station and missing my last train.

Both my daughter’s phone and mine had flat batteries…what an adventure.

The ad write culminated I’m getting back to car charging phone finding leicester had lost and then, that we had drawn.

What is going on?

It’s not just us, all of us 3 are no longer winning match after match.

Remember how people at, well this team has nothing to o play for, it will be easy etc…

There are NO easy matches.

Teams playing for points, prize money, managers playing for their jobs, players for new contracts.

I don’t think we’re bottling it, I think teams realised how to play against us, sit back and let us try and dance ball in.

We look slow on attack and Not providing service to bamford. Doesn’t matter who is up there if he’s not getting the service.

Gruev was the key of course, get him back and all will be fine. Well it’s not, he is not the magic of this team, it’s easy to have high pass percentage when all passes are short and mostly sideways or backwards.

This isn’t to single him out but to illustrate how players out of side are always supposedly the solution.

Farke is right on one hand that now is not the time to experiment, however do what you always did, get what you always got.

Some change is needed, either in form of starting 11 or making subs earlier in a match so that they have a real chance to make an impact.

The other day i posted about our 4-0 loss to Man City now I’m thinking if the season we chased sheff u and every time they faltered, so did we and then had that awful play off final v Watford.

I really think that if we get act together it is leicester who will miss out BUT we have to get act together.

I still think Farke the man to do it, but he’s talked about each match being a cup final and I’m not sure he’s ever been in one and won one, so have a good think and work out how we get up in these next 4 matches.

No excuses on Saturday - day more rest than Blackburn - Caveat, they whacked Sunderland 5-1 away and held Southampton to nil in the last couple of games.

Bench warmers need to see more minutes - 10 minutes from the end is no good.

We are still in it. Blackburn got hammered tonight and Ipswich were lucky not to lose with a sensational shot from the halfway line which Hladky did well to save. It's any two from three and it's too close to call. Farke needs to learn from his mistakes and force the pace against Blackburn. A 3-0 win would do a lot to boost our confidence for the final three games.

To be fair, neither Gruev nor Roberts can have been 100% after their injuries.

As many have pointed out, continuity in all positions helps, but combined with the risks of player burn out (thinking of James and Kamara), the current pressure to not-lose-the-game is responsible for our far more negative approach to building attacks from the back.

Put the team out which faced Chelsea on Saturday and I am confident we will take the three points, irrespective of Leicester’s result the night before.

At the end of the day, goals win matches, and if Bamford isn’t taking any of the few chances he is getting, then it is logical to put Joseph out there. No goals means no 3 points and right now, that mean being condemned to the Play-offs. If Bamford is the fall-guy then unfortunate though it is, it has to be. He can always be the one to come in after 70 minutes if necessary.
