Bolton Wanderers v Portsmouth

Matchday, 4 to go and it's a big one. The stakes are massive, the nerves are jangling as 25000 prepare to descend on the toughsheet. Portsmouth. A win today and they are promoted to the championship and they win the title. Good luck to them and it will happen but not today on our own patch. Bolton simple equation after winning the last 2 win the next 4 games, 3 of which are at home then they are going to be guaranteed to finish 2nd and automatically promoted. With all those stakes it's going to be a boring 0-0 isn't it? My own feeling is we are still going to need other results to go for us. Derby v Leyton Orient and Oxford v Peterborough are the 2 to look out for today. Also gone under the radar that Bolton are already guaranteed play offs no matter what happens. Team news. The water pistols have been put away and the armada is back. Sheehan and Santos are available after been reported struggling last weekend, Charles is back fit as is Jones. With the injuries clearing up this just leaves Mendes Gomes and Adeboyejo still out and finding the right time to bring back Nlundulu and Johnston back from their long term injuries. Likely starting line up. Baxter. Jones Santos Toal. Dacres-cogley Maghoma Sheehan Thomason Ogbeta. Böðvarsson Collins. Competition for the bench with 2 strikers Charles and Jerome so will evatt risk not picking a keeper? Kick off is 3pm.

There's no point starting to get wound up for tomorrow night today.
We should be able to afford a relaxing day, perhaps a picnic at Lostock.
After lunch tomorrow, we can start the build and psyching up for another ride on the roller coaster.

Looking back at Saturday's result there was one important point I forgot to factor in, that was the big game effect.

We don't seem to do well against the top clubs and it is always the same factor, our inability to take our chances. 19 shots on goal and only one converted.

Collins has done well in the last few games so hopefully he might become a more clinical striker than Dion and the rest of the team. We will just have to wait and see what the final three games bring.

Coggley took a bit of a beating on Saturday, but I was surprised to see Sheehan play after it was said that he had a hamstring injury. Maybe he won't be starting tonight.

Hopefully, Collins will be fine but he was taken off, let's hope he hasn't picked up an injury or a virus or some other spurious ailment.

Why does IE insist on making the subs.
There are times when some of them, are not huffing and puffing or injured.
He has to make use of his subs, around the 70min mark!
