Fallout

Anyone seen this yet?

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Massive fan of the games and its a lot of fun spotting the nods to the fallout games.

However even without playing the games it is still a really good show with its dark humour and occasional bouts of ultra violence.

The characters are really interesting aswell particularly Walter Goggings as cooper and the ghoul. Definitely cant wait to see more of his backstory

Really good to hear they have already announced season 2 and csnt wait to see what they bring to the next season (deathclaws anyone?)

Good thing about the show is you can watch without ever having played the games and just enjoy the ride

& yeah Deathclaws, you don't fight them with just a pistol

I've only watched the first episode, and I had mixed feelings.

I've not really played the games, but I wanted the series to be just a bit grittier and to take itself just a bit more seriously. I know I'm in the minority though because everyone else seems to love how irreverent and 'out there' it is. I just thought it was a bit OTT with the cartoon violence etc.

Obviously it's visually stunning but I don't feel particularly compelled to watch the rest of it.

Three episodes in and it's fantastic so far, Walton Goggins is pretty much just great in everything, the other characters are pretty compelling even when they're not likeable and visually it looks spot on. It feels like Fallout

big easter egg hunt.

I do like the OTT the sort of tongue and cheek, thats exactly what it should be. the games are incredibly tongue in cheek.

Goggins and Purnell are doing a very god job, the guy playing Titan/Maximus is doing his very best Cuba Gooding Jnr impression !! Just got the last episode to watch.

The show was fantastic

Have whacked out fallout New Vegas for old times sake which is my favourite (I've played FO3, Vegas, & 4)

Can't wait for S2!

New Vegas was the best game in theory, prob the one I enjoyed the most also. buggy as hell, but played better than 3 and the story and world felt better than 4.

Yeah, to be fair I don't think 'grittier' was the right word.

I just thought it felt a bit too... self-aware, maybe? Like nearly every scene was them saying 'look how crazy and irreverent we're being!' Especially the ultra-violence, which felt almost slapstick at times.

It was kind of hard to see past that for me, but I did only watch the first episode.

You could look at it that way...or you could also say that they're just trying to imitate the sheer silliness of kills in video games in general.
