So another hat full of game winning chances missed from our number 9. Such a frustrating watch at times, does so much right and generally i think he played well yesterday but so much wrong when it comes to finishing. He terrorised Kyle walker and caused the city defence no end of problems wirh his pace and running on the ball but as soon as he approaches the box you can see him start to shrink as the confidence leaves him. My understanding is he spent the majority of his career as a left forward bar a golden scoring run before he moved to us, do we just write it off as a bad job and start playing him left wing ? given his competition is mudryk and sterling I feel he could fo well there and if you look at 10 goals and 4 assists in 28 games as a wide man you'd be pretty happy. Or with perseverance can he come good as a 9, take the chances he's missed and end the season on 20 plus goals

He's just another Darwin Nunez. Works hard, makes good runs but has zero composure.
You're never going to win any of the major competitions with him as your main man. Same goes for Liverpool with Nunez. Especially after they lose Salah.
As a Utd fan I could only wish our striker Hojlund got half the chances Jackson gets. He feeds off scraps in comparison.

Has all the tools.
Other than the most important one for a striker

I dunno what to do with him tbh. I wouldn't sell him, at worst he's a cracking backup to have, but we've seen this story before. How different is he from Werner (1st season) really? Another CF who was borderline world class except for inability to put the ball in a damn net.
We've seen at Chelsea that when a striker's problems are psychological, which this seems to be, we can't help them.

One thing he doesn't do is hide. He gives his all. He's just playing in a terrible side that looks lost.
Hojlund would score bag fulls for City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

More excuses. Strikers make there own chances if the service is crap. He has the physique and pace to go solo rather than wait for 5 yard tap ins. He needs to do more, be more selfish and put himself about.

On a par with Nunez as the biggest donkey in the league

On par with Drogba's first season, and he's 4 years younger.

I think that is being a tad disingenuous to Drogba tbf. He may not have had the best first season, but he always looked like a striker and he was still bringing others in to play, even if not scoring a hateful of goals.

Things like movement could be better with Højlund, though we have to remember he has a back issue which might have some effect, even if only a small one, on physicality and mobility. But he does put himself about.
