Bruno was playing with a broken hand
Bruno Fernandes’s match-winning performance against Sheffield United appears even more remarkable given that he was playing with a broken hand. Erik ten Hag revealed on Tuesday that Fernandes was a doubt for the match at Old Trafford after injuring his hand in a fall during the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City three days before.
It is understood that Fernandes broke his right hand during the match against Coventry but still insisted on playing against Sheffield United.
The gesture was well received within the club, where he is viewed as a resilient character and inspirational leader. United refused to comment on the extent of Fernandes’s injury on Thursday, stressing that it was a matter of confidentiality.

For those who have never had a broken hand before it can be quite painfull initially and it swells up. I have done it 3 times now. But you can still play football with it if well protected by strapping.

Not saying it won't hurt, but there's 27 bones in the hand, so just how bad it is will depends on which bone breaks and how severe the fracture is.

well a described broken hand (rather than a broken finger or wrist) is usually a broken/fractured metcarpal.

The whole Antony/Maguire reactions are being so over blown. We all know Antony is a little sh-tbag, look at him, did anyone expect anything different? Also, remember when slabhead cupped his ears to the England fans after scoring against Albania. Neither of them are particularly likeable and both have very punchable faces.

I give as much of a shiite on Antony as I did when Robins gave a bit back to the ball boy a few weeks ago.

I'll take your word on that. You've got the experience, unlike me.

Jack Grealish continues to play, despite suffering from a chronic cauliflower bottom issue, caused from falling onto the floor 40 times per game.

I'd only punch Maguire's face if I wanted a hand like Bruno's for a few weeks.

Bruno is a true hero, single broken handedly carrying your team to victory over Sheff Utd at home. One of just 26 times they've been beaten this season

Thanks for the 4 points this season. It's been a great help

I'm sure it has... One of your best ever seasons and you will still likely end a handful of points above us in one of our worst ever seasons.
High five!

The odd trophy every now and again does the trick 👍

You really would think Spurs are top of the league sometimes.
If you want a bit of banter I wrote an article on signing of the season, which gets a bit funnier every week.

I've played Sunday league with a broken hand. It doesn't hurt that much and playing football is fun. Non story
