Bernardo Silva's penalty in the quarter final pretty much summed up English clubs in Europe this season. Only Aston Villa remain.
Tonight is Real Madrid away to Bayern Munich. Obviously it is being hyped as the 2 best England players facing off as Harry Kane hosts Jude Bellingham. Of course both teams are much more than that, such as Vinicius jr, Musiala, Sane, Kimmich, Valverde and Rodrygo. Bayern are aiming to join AC Milan as the second most successful club in Europes primary competition on 7 titles. Real are looking for their 15th!
Kick off for that is 8pm on TNT.
Also tonight, a big game for Ipswich - and Leeds!
Coventry host 3rd placed Ipswich, who are currently level on points with Leeds but with goal difference of 7 less. This is Ipswich's game in hand before Saturdays final fixture. Ipswich host Huddersfield at the weekend, with Huddersfield needing 3 points and a miracle to survive. Leeds host a Southampton team with at least one eye on their play-off semi final.
Wednesday night is a return to Germany with outsiders Dortmund hosting the under-achievers in this competition, PSG. Mbappe is obviously the big name on show, Chelsea fans may find it a little confusing watching their full back Ian Maatsen play in a CL semi on loan at Dortmund, rather than playing for the Blues.
Talking blues - Chelsea host Spurs on Thursday night. Both still licking wounds after defeat to Arsenal, it is an important game for both as they chase Europe and CL respectively.
Also on Thursday we see the Europa League and Conference League semi final first legs. AS Roma aim to be the first team to beat Leverkusen, while Marseille welcome Atalanta. Villa get home advantage in the ECL against Olympiakos, while Fiorentina and Brugge meet in the other semi.
We have Premier League action on Friday, but also the start of the play-offs in the EFL. Saturday sees the conclusion of the regular Championship season, as well as the top 2 in the PL playing.
Not sure I have a preference for European semi finals. But I will have a build-a-bet or two.
CL semi finals plus...

Not quite, they'd need to match the Leeds result in the last game too

Aye but you would fancy them to beat Huddersfield. They just need to get a point tonight to keep 2nd place in their own hands

A 7 goal victory would be even better but I’ll settle for the point

Yeah they should beat Hudders but you never know
Hopefully they can do it!

Everton have coped well with points deductions this year. Not just Leicester - Forest may have a points deduction next season. Norwich or WBA may sneak the final promotion spot, and it's not unthinkable that either of them would finish below Ipswich.
