The day after

When they've needed to, Ipswich have stepped up...so far.

This is not over and those saying treat Southampton as a pre season, can never have been involved in sport, you never give up, anything can happen.

Farke has to lift the players and go for the win, not just for that match but also to give some sort of momentum if we are going into play offs.

Imagine treating its as preseason, getting a draw only to see Ipswich lose.

We have to go for the win.

Everything has to go into a win here and then if not enough, win 3 more matches.

Of course Im concerned about our form and about Farke's ability to inspire when needed most, but he's gotten us this far, he's with us till the end here and he's more likely to be successful if supported than not.

Credit to Ipswich for an amazing season, but this is our 11 minutes of added time.

To be at the club when Marsch came in was an odd place to be with all the strange dealings that were being dreamt up at the time, we and Davis were lucky, he's earned a great deal where he now is, and we're not going to lose out on him like we will with most of Marsch's x-deals that need sorting at the end of the season!..

You would imagine Southampton are the ones that can afford to rest all their players. In reality both teams need to take this game seriously as momentum is very important going into play-offs

I’m sure Farke will try and lift his players and put everything into beating Saints - he has no option. If Ipswich do lose and we fail to win, I think it will be the final nail in the coffin because lifting the team for the playoffs will be an almighty task. We’ve bottled it four times in the last 6 matches - do the same next week and I think our confidence is shot.

Leeds have to play a strong side, just in case Ipswich lose. Highly unlikely

Southampton can play their reserves and give their first team a week off.

Even if we win easily it will be a hollow victory.

Wouldn't make 11 changes, but no way would I play Rutter or Summerville. Saints only need a few heavy tackles and either could miss the playoffs. Id start Anthony and Gnonto out wide with Piroe at 10 and Bamford or Joseph up top. Bring Kamara in and put Gray back at RB.

Spot on in both comments, Shaun. Ipswich are out of sight. Let them go. The time to start focusing on the play-offs is now.
Yes, we go for the jugular against Southampton, but yes, we rest key players. Anthony, Joseph and Piroe are all good shouts. Hopefully, Roberts is back, so Kamara and Gruev go into the midfield. I would aslo rest Gray for this one.

Can't believe folk are saying rest players. We can still go up!

It's truly bizarre.

I have players who sometimes give up when they think they can't win.

I always show them this:

The woman who fell at the very end is a Leeds supporter, who is actually employed by the club, as head of the 'stealing defeat from the jaws of victory' department. This is currently the fastest growing department at the club.

Never give up in sport! I’ve seen some bizarre last days of the season.

The fans will expect nothing less than the team going all out to win this game. Farke won’t rest anyone who is fully fit.

Morning all🌞

I like the attempt to lift our spirits ahead of the weekend.

Whatever happens elsewhere, winning is a good habit and we need to start a new mini-winning streak on Saturday.

Ironically against Southampton, but if any match epitomised the importance of not giving up, this one did.

Ahhh! Great spirit, we also saw games like this in the Bielsa days, great comebacks, injury time winners near heart attack inducing stuff.
