If Ange keeps doubling down on this set play thing.
I'm right, everyone else (including Pep) is wrong.
Can't help but thinking that planting his flag in this particular mound is riddled with danger.
If we concede in both the next two games to set plays (and we know both sides will be working on them), what are the potential consequences?
Arrogance

Is he arrogant though? Or just very confident in his own process seeing as it has served him well in past?
Time will tell.

I like Ange and really hope he comes good but I fear that what might of been good enough to keep set pieces out of the net in Japan, Australia and Scotland isn't in the Prem.
Some acknowledgement of this and some assurances about what we are doing to sort it wouldn't go amiss.

I think he is protecting Mile Jedinak who is in charge of defending set pieces, so admitting there is a problem is throwing him under the bus?

This is exactly it. Ange is protecting his players/staff.
Of course we are working on set pieces. Some of our fans want him to come out and start saying stuff like "yeah, we're shiiiit and need to find a solution"...like that's gonna help

“of course we are working on set pieces”
Can’t say I’ve seen much evidence of that.

Nicholas Bendtner was confident in his own process. I'm sure every single manager in the world goes into a job feeling like they can make a difference. Just because Ange is confident success will happen, it doesn't mean it will.
We can only really judge him on everything up until now. Our form since November leaving us 10th over that period is alarming so the arrogance becomes less palatable.
Next year will be the real test. Ange has said that we'll be better so if we're not, the questioning will be legitimate. I'll back him all day long at the moment but I definitely have some concerns creeping in that our results recently are down to tactical naivety and not a lack of quality, so will summer recruitment really change things?

Thing is we obviously do practice set pieces otherwise we wouldn’t go zonal. I think it’s just that our coaches suck

On the set pieces, I think the reason we've stopped putting Maddison in as the protector is because Vicario doesn't like his box too crowded. If the area is congested, it makes it even harder to come and command. I think it's come directly from him. The problem is, if you don't want the help, you've got to make sure you don't screw up. I just think he needs to toughen up and get used to clattering into people more. Be commanding. It's getting to the point where an opposition corner is like a feckin penalty.

We’ve conceded 16 times from set pieces. Whoever is ‘coaching’ that should absolutely be thrown under the bus.

Time will tell as I said but he does need new faces.
The Nicholas Bendtner comment was abit random 🙂

Bendtner is a kind of figurehead for delusional arrogance. He thought he was the best player in the world. I was just trying to make the point that Ange having full belief in the system and process doesn't mean we'll get there, just as Bendtner never did get anywhere near a Ballon D'or.
