Good win, but...

Sadly the City juggernaut continues to roll on. Really can't see them not winning all their games.

Yesterday's game was a mixed bag. Total domination but chance after chance went by. Bournemouth were blocking everything. The first controversial moment saw Saka the victim of an horrendous foul that the ref missed and VAR thought was okay. Add it to the Nico Jackson one on Tomiyasu and Kilman on Havertz, 3 very bad fouls and we ended up with as many yellows out of the incidents as the opposition 😂😂.

The second moment of controversy came near the end of the half. To me it looked a clear dive live, and the replays showed Havertz drag his foot to get caught. We have seen many others get pens in similar circumstances so can't be too hard on Havertz or the ref. Saka very cool in dispatching the pen.

Second half we continued on top and a great interception and pass led to Trossard netting. Rice doing brilliantly in the build up.

A couple of minutes later and another huge call from the ref. A shot hit the bar, a bit of tussling, a poor punch from Raya and Bournemouth netted. But the ref then gave a foul which to me didn't exist. VAR check looked at about 5 things, including a potential penalty but the goal was ruled out.

In injury time we made it 3 with the superb Rice adding an extra to our gd.

Raya ended the game with his 15th clean sheet from 30 games which secured the golden gloves outright. An award he will no doubt thank Saliba, White, Gabriel and Rice for.

We should have won by more, avoided a nervy last 20 thanks to the ref, and the watched City roll over Wolves. Fulham, Spurs and West Ham last 3 for City, can Iwobi win it for us?

Few of us balked at the £106m fee for Rice, but don't recall anyone that thought he'd be a bad signing.

Still don't understand the controversy over the Bournemouth goal ruled out. That gets given every week when corners get played in before a chance even develops. Solanke, with no attempt whatsoever to play the ball, ran up to Raya to lean into and obstruct him.

I agree Havertz dived.

Hilarious how Rice is getting all the plaudits now suddenly when we told you all how good he was. But when he was at West Ham he was overrated. He didn't become this player overnight and now a he'll of a lot of people look very silly

Honestly don't remember anyone hating on Rice, not until Arsenal signed him anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was mainly Man Utd fans calling him overrated when the papers linked him to a big money move to them.

I'm pretty sure majority of Arsenal fans were happy to sign him. I think GT was the only one against it.

I wasnt against him but thought he would be too expansive. I admit I was completely wrong. Worth every penny. Brilliant player and I think he developed further under Arteta.

I wanted Rice long before we were ever linked with him…

Whatever happens this season, the lesson to take on board is to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts and rotate effectively.
The pool of players to pick from in the league and champions league must go from 14 to say 18.

Would add City's first penalty was a nonsense too.

Harsh decision but once it was given, it was never going to be overturned
