Watching a TNT prog about Villa back in 81-82 and their league win and European success. I was still at high school and TV coverage was nothing like you get today, I had been to see Utd a few times prior to this before my auld man passed away but English football was a stranger to me for the most part but that Villa team, and Ipswich had some top players and some of the MOTD highlights kept me very interested
Really took me back and was my first real foray into the English game which has stuck since then, if you get a chance have a watch of it
Liverpool had won the title the year before and were favs again but Villa winning it was huge, great prog

Fiorentina vs Olympiacos is a decent sounding final though, might tune in for that. Would be cheering on Olympiacos

The problem is next season - Villa have no chance of winning the league or CL. The FA cup and League cup are unlikely as the likes of City and Liverpool take them seriously these days..
This was the chance, if they had won this tournament and qualified for CL it would have been a huge season, their best since the 80’s. I think they will regret this.
Wish we would win Saturday and get ourselves qualified for Europe and try and win that next year - I won’t hold my breath though
