The Youth and Ladies teams have outperformed the men's team. Winning leagues, cups and getting to finals. I dont get all this talk about winning mentality when it's clear it's not really the club it's the mens first team. Coincidentally the highest paid of all the categories.
Maybe rewarding average players with hefty contracts is a part of it. Then telling the team all season it's about the way we play not the results. Not sure what Ange expects.
Winning mentality

I appreciate that Ange wants more of a winning mentality around the club and I agree with him in that respect. Comments from certain fans on here yesterday talking about being happy about the season (Hengy) is a bit embarrassing and it's probably the kind of loser mentality he's aiming at.
That said, the problems begin on the pitch and the way we've tailed off has been very poor. 5 losses in 6 games is the sort of form that may have got previous Spurs managers the sack. But as it's his first season and he's trying to change the way we play, he'll get more time and he should do. Needs to be much better next season though. Show us all that those first 10 games weren't us just punching above our weight and instead a more normal standard.

The winning mentality thing is by definition absolute nonsense because every winner has to win something for the first time.
It's just about being better than everyone else and that usually just means better players. Simple.

It's shocking that Arsenal gave 6 points to Aston Villa and sacrificed their Premier League title just so that Spurs miss out on the top four. Such a small club mentality.

Its all very well a fan sitting there and demanding a winning mentality...but it means feck all.
A winning mentality does not necessarily mean you have to win anything, it's a team game that depends on a lot more than the mentality of the players. If all our players had a strong winning mentality, it still doesnt mean we would havee beaten City last night
To me it means that they have to have that total belief and put that expectation on themselves. Demand everything from their self with a single minded approach, and deliver when it matters.
This will carry you through the challenges, the difficult and the clutch moments and will give you that extra 1 or 2 % extra when it matters.
That said, there is still no substitute for quality

A winning mentality is practically part of Australia's nationality. I think that's what makes the fact the Ange was in charge of a match a lot of the fans wanted to lose so fascinating, because that kind of logic just wouldn't compute to most aussies.
