Just Had To Be Didn’t It.

Either Tottenham or Chelsea for 5th Place/Europa going into the final day!

Yes there is the consolation/booby prize of The Europa Conference if we have one more Spursy episode on Sunday and fail to get a point, but who, hand on heart will be happy with that?

Itā€™s one of those moments to think back and reflect on all those points unnecessarily squandered during the season!

Our wage bill is £250m compared to £400m for them. You could argue they should be doing better. They also have more HG and club trained players than us which helps. You know they will try harder. Or should anyway.

The funny thing for me is that Spurs fans are saying we’ve had a good season and mocking Poch and Chelsea for having a bad season - could end up on same points ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we started well and finished poorly, and they’ve done the opposite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather do what they did and feel
Like we’re building rather than foldingšŸ¤£
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think the fragile foundation would have allowed Poch to continue after the start they had?

No chance. The whole club would have been toxic by December and Levy would have sacked after all the boos. Imagine the likes of Fridge, Mack and Strike calling for his head lol. Even you!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’d be able to see progress though wouldn’t you?
You’d see a bit of a plan:
Similar to what we saw at the start of the season. I loved the press from the front and drawing the oppositions out by playing out from the back. Where’s it all gone?

And to your other point, how many people are calling for his head? And let’s be honest, our results would see us 16th since January or 11th if we don’t count the ten game blip. Most people agree he should have a good summer and Jan transfer window and judge him at the end of next season. If we get Champions League, you can celebrate that if it’s your thing but remember that Ange told you were challenging for the league next season.

They guy has said he won’t accept any player he doesn’t want. So he’s got no wriggle room now. All the signing since he joined are his and will be his so he will have to own it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's be honest, Cole Palmer has saved him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Presumably he signed him?

Why can’t Brennan Johnson save Ange?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if he or any other player was his choice. Toddy boy has a big say in transfers over there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Poch doesn't have a say in the players then we have to say he's doing an even better job then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They spent £435m in the summer and brought better talented players on paper than we have. For a hell of alot more money. Think any manager at Chelsea stands a good chance of doing well. On paper anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But if they weren't players he wanted though? A lot of those are overinflated prices anyway cause Todd is a bit clueless. I mean was it over £100m for Caicedo? The guy isn't even worth any more than Bissouma was for us.

Poch didn't have the best start to his career at Spurs either by the way and he was still stuck with, so he might have been afforded the same rough start. I guess we'll never know now. Ange needs 1 point more to equal the tally Poch got in his first season with us.

There were strong rumours they wanted to sack Poch but couldn't afford to because of PSR lol

If I was a Chelsea fan I'd be happy that they didn't decide to sack Poch. Seems like they're on the right trajectory now and I'd expect them to have a much better season next season.

Chelsea might even struggle to qualify playing in Europe even if they qualify...

Man United won their last four games last season and finished 3rd. Doesn't always work out like that....

Chels do look like they'll be right up there next season.
