Thoughts from tonight

Dour game at weekend was a platform to build on and been counting down the days to this one.

Farke come in for a lot of criticism for last few weeks of results, now do or die to prove himself.

With Byram injured, means Piroe starts up top.

Tonight was a throwback, attacking was fluent, Rutter was back to his best, Summerville effective and we get a free kick and suddenly our drought of goals from midfield is ended by clever free kick from Gruev.

We're on our way.

Norwich have to go for it and one mistimed challenge by Ampadu lets Sargent in, it's all set for one all but WHAT a save from Meslier, seriously good decision making, positioning and reactions, could have been so different without him.

Gray is floating around and everything is working for him, Kamara looks effortless in linking up and Rodon just inspires confidence at the back.

Piroe working much harder tonight is part of reason we're more effective and great ball from Gnonto sees Piroe head us 2-0 up, Much as I like Bamford, that would have come off his nose.

Surely no slip ups now.

We are so menacing going forwards tonight, we play like that in Final and we'll win, Rutter holds ball up, gets out of tight situations, Summerville with such quick feet tonight and Gnonto always a threat, it's no surprise when another attack ends at Leeds players feet and Rutter cool as you like, roof of the net, 3-0 and there is only one winner here.

Link up play at times was brilliant and through balls from Kamara, presence of mind from Firpo to react quickest and brilliant pull back mean Summerville gets the goal his performance deserves and at 4-0 we have chance to give subs some time and really good to see Cooper on pitch for surely his last game at Elland Road, been a great servant for us, lets hope he gets to lift the trophy at Wembley.

A word for teh ref, very good tonight, especially spotting teh dive from Rowe where there was no contact at all.

Dallas and Bamford there shows what Farke has brought, unity and smiles and effectiveness.

Well done Farke and also all players who really delivered a performancee to give us belief.

We are going up.

Yes, save was when we were 2-0 up, calm down everyone!

I wouldn't say Firpo is great defensively but he is really effective going forwards.

Obviously a league below where he was really poor, m maybe a year of confidence under his belt might see him hold his own in Prem when we get there.

Gruev looked much better tonight, nit just the goal but much more involved and effective, they all were, the whole team were.

Farke's job is to make that happen.

Apart from Bamford and Byram we're injury free a day extra rest and although I'm not a believer in "we deserve this" etc......when we finally won promotion a couple of seasons ago, no one could go watch it.

This might be the most poetic of justice and one likes to think that in Rosario a man sitting in a coffee shop might raise an espresso to the team.

Firpo still poor defensively, in general. But been excellent in a what has been a very standard of quality league, bar 3 teams.

If we go up, we have to get left back sorted. If quite like him as a winger, seems to be excellent in the opposing box.

That byram injury did us a huge favour last night. Absolutely buzzing.

Struiyk injury has been pivotal in creating the Amps and Rodon partnership and our fantastic unbeaten run from New Years day but tbh after the international break our defensive record was quite average until our last 2 games where defensively we look a lot more switched
on and back to the early 2024 form.

Watched the game on my Laptop and the sound wasn't exactly what it should be!..

But I have a question, towards the end were they singing Patrick Bamford is tish or was my sound worst than I'm making out?..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All I heard, watching on TV, was”Ashley Barnes is s**t which the crowd sang for quite some time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s what they were singing.

Quite funny as he always seems to score against us."

Than I did hear things wrong, my Laptop needs a new speaker or I need a newer Laptop!.

Re Firpo - he and Ayling have the best assist rates in the Championship.

I always thought there was a player in him. His attacking work is excellent and his defending has even got better.
