Finally!

Liverpool FC have announced that:

Matip
Thiago

Will leave the club at the end of the season, for me this was obvious...they just cant stay off the treatment room, they add little value therefore so pleased two squad places open up.

No matter how good the player its useless if they cant play, so thanks for everything and hope you do well. Last few seasons we will have jettisoned the ones made of glass:

AOC
Keita
Thiago
Matip

Seems like of the rest it's only Konate that seems to suffer. The rest were impact injuries or just unlucky, like Robertson, Kostas and Jota...who all fell or in Jotas case had a player fall on his knee. Bajcetic was a growth issue to do with age so fingers crossed should be ok now.

I'm hoping with Slot playing a more controlling game we do better on the injury front and we should do now two more (thiago..matip) will leave.

My guess is some Spanish side will pick Thiago up and carefully managing his workload get 2 or 3 years decent seasons out of him.

He'll probably appeal to someone like R Sociedad, Villarreal, Sevilla, Valencia, Betis, that calibre club. (who knows, maybe even Barça)

a) great character in those players

b) bit churlish to be saying finally when matip was a major part of our successes.

c) in juries are a big part of the game and players will be injured due to the amount of games.

I'd say your article is harsh on Matip in particular. Yes it's time for him to go but he's been a valuable player for you guys over the years.

They have all played there part, but it's not about that it's about the ability to play football regularly...in Thiagos case for instance 94 times in 4yrs is just nowhere near good enough!

At 200k a week that's just taking the pee.

Slot is the coach. Our returning transfer committee will try to find the next Matip, Mane, Salah etc

Surely every league is hit and miss. Plenty of PL signings fail when it comes to taking the step up. It even happens between clubs that are both in the top tier. You either get the right players to fit your needs, or you don't.

Have United's/Ten Hag's Eredivisie signings been any more hit and miss than the rest?

They signed Maguire for £85m. I hope that answers your rhetorical question.
