Finally, a performance to remind us how good we can be. Everything that has been missing since the international break was there. Right from the start, everyone was up for it. The movement was fluid and quick. The tackling was crisp and the breakouts were lightning fast. Who thought Piroe could rip Norwich apart like a machete through a paper bag? Rutter ran them ragged and Archie Gray added another zero to his price tag. Firpo tormented their defence with his overlaps and our midfield stopped them in their tracks. Even when we lapsed, Mes showed himself to be the best one-on-one keeper in the league, to make that vital save. This wasn't just a victory, it was a massacre. This was the clearest affirmation of what it means to be LUFC.
Wembley will be a sea of white next Sunday. Southampton will be a much stiffer challenge than Norwich, but they will look at our performance yesterday and they will know that this Leeds team is a different animal to the one they tamed in the League.
We buried one hoodoo yesterday. Let's bury another one next Sunday.
United at last

Sunday is a make or break game, if the nerves are kept under control and we play like we did Thursday than I'll be expecting us to go all the way!..
But it'll be dangerous going into the game thinking Southampton'll roll over and die, they are on their day as good as any and respect has to be the order of the day!..
Hopefully we keep cool and do it just to keep the "I told you so" crew in their boxes!..

Just have a very strong feeling there will be plenty of goals so I'll get my prediction in early... Leeds 4 Southampton 3.
Last time I saw Leeds in the flesh at the old Wembley was the same score in our favour against Liverpool in the 1992 Charity shield.

As for the doubters who say we lost twice to them in the League, just look at Oxford United who beat Bolton in the Division 1 play-offs yesterday. They lost twice to Bolton in the league, including a 5-0 pasting at their place. It can be done!

That's what I thought too, Macca,
I think this game will be a cracker.
Whichever side loses will go up as Champions in 24/25 with 95+ points.
