Congratulations to Man City.
4 league titles in a row is pretty impressive indeed.
But this article is really for the idiots who disrespect the other top leagues in Europe by calling them "farmers' leagues" because one team tend to dominate and win titles every year
Well , the Premier League is ........?????

"Crap defending, record goals conceded, teams doing crap in Europe"
Enough about United, what about the other 19 PL teams?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf that sentence could be used to sum up even one match for Liverpool in Europe this season.

Yes, yes, we know all of the PL teams are crap.....I mean no they're not! (when someone questions the quality of the PL)
So basic.

I think the "farmer's league" insult is thrown around when the winner is head and shoulders above the rest... Even in this City/Pep dominated time, most titles have gone to the wire, with teams like Liverpool and Arsenal stepping up.

I always thought it meant that the level of players in the league is poor and that are semi-pros and have day jobs, such as being farmers.

People can pretend all they want but reality bites hard.
The English league system has produced 24 different league champions.
No other major European league comes close to that
France and Italy are 2nd and 3rd respectively in the low to mid teens.
Regardless of the different historical lengths of each national league system, the original league is THE most competitive and THE most difficult to win.
That's why only the best club in that league system could have won it the most times.
Somewhat obviously that same sheer extra level of competitiveness and difficulty has also hampered english league teams in European competitions.
I'm no nationalist (indeed I'm pretty much the very opposite) but facts remain facts. Some systems are just more difficult to compete within than others.
Not really interested in nonsensical, or unevidenced, opinions claiming otherwise...

I think what makes city's run of titles more impressive is that they had competition all the time. They had Liverpool pushing them all the way, being joint dominant with City you could say, really forcing City to up the standards to win every year. Which makes it more impressive.

Other teams have also benefited from Liverpool's dominance.
This year Arsenal were pushed all the way by Liverpool, propelling them into a last day title challenge. That might not have happened if a dominant Liverpool hadn't finished 3rd.
Similarly last year. Arsenal, United and Newcastle benefited massively from Liverpool's dominant 5th place finish. Without Liverpool's dominance, pushing the teams above them to improve, none of these teams would have had as good a season as they did.
