Congratulations Lankshear

Player of the Season. I really hope Ange and the coaches recognise how talented these kids are and don't allow them to get wasted on pointless loans

Veliz, Lankshear, Hall, Donley, Moore, Santiago, Phillips. In my 20 minutes all capable of playing for lower end prem teams or top end championship. There's no reason why they can't get some game time when we play those teams in the league or cups. Save money on by average bench fillers and let's buy top quality players and combine them with our talented academy.

Rather have Santiago than Werner for example. Hall looks more composed than 2024 Hojbjerg and Skipp

Veliz looks a better hold up striker than Richarlison, Son and Scarlett. So could be used in certain scenarios

Donley and Moore will cause problems for opposition in the final 20 minutes a game.

I agree with the sentiment but the same old "Spurs/Levy lacking ambition" claim will be banded about when in a key game we're turning to kids on the bench.

Jeez, Ange changed up the team for the Carabao bringing in seasoned PL players and internationals and we lost on penalties and he's accused of throwing the game by our fans.

I like the thought of giving kids lots of playing time but some of our fans aint on board for anything less than best XI and winning stuff

Would be nice to see a blend. I think Santiago is ready to feature. Hall after a proper pre season would be good to evaluate. Donley looks ready for some prem games.

The difference in levels between youth football and the premier league is colossal. Rarely are players coming straight out of it and outperforming international footballers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, Spurs should be loaning these lads out this summer.

The younger lads who have made an impact were all playing regularly elsewhere - Sarr and Udogie. Hopefully Bergvall and Vusckovic are similar

Thats not really the full picture now was it?

Ange played seasoned pros who most of us already knew were dog crap, and they proceeded to play like that. If we had played some youth then there at least would have been more excitement and understanding from the fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah mate!

Our full XI got dicked by them a few weeks ago, so this assumption that (1) we would have beaten them and (2) we'd cut him slack if kids were played and we lost is BS from fickle fans!

Ange's 4th game...He didnt even know what his first team squad had to offer let alone the fecking kids.

Many here were calling Porro dogshiiit under Conte and Ange has got him playing really well in the system....you may view the likes of GLC, PEH, Richarlison, Solomon, Perisic as crap but Ange cannot make that judgement until he's seem them play and seen if they could have something serious to offer. Sanchez...i'll give you that one. He will always be crap!

Some might benefit from being in and around the first team squad and getting minutes here and there, and others may need loans. It’s difficult to know as development isn’t linear.

But fans really overestimate the level that youth players are at. Many of these Spurs players aren’t even the best at their age groups in the country, which is shown by the England youth selections. England have one of the best u21 teams in Europe, and few of those are actually regulars for premier league clubs that are in European competitions, or competing for them.

From the outside looking in, I don’t think Spurs have been that good at providing opportunities to their youth players, however. But even if that is improved, they won’t just see all their youth players replacing established internationals in the squad. Especially if Spurs really have ambitions of improving in the short term.

Good point. Ange will decide who is good enough to be on the fringes of the team in summer and who needs a loan or more time with the U21's.

There are defo three or four players who played who have trained with the first team this season, who could be on the fringes next summer.

How about, you know, he chose an unchanged side from the weekend - is that too much to ask. Or rotate like Fergie used to - change one player each game every game - I’d have no issue with that

Ange will need to be open to using youngsters, though. I don’t know enough about his management to say for certain, but I’ve heard he’s not that bothered about using youth players. But that may be that the talent wasn’t there to even bother giving opportunities.

Worringly i do not believe Ange will use the youngsters which is a huge concern of mine.

You could see just from the newcastle friendly there was no reason to not be giving santiago or Donley a place on the bench instead of Gil.

Theres been no reason to parade on the bench with two goalkeepers which we have done three times this season or worse parade with one under on the bench when we knew in advance Kulu might not make it.

Lankshear is linked with Ajax on a permanent deal. Can see us losing him sadly.

Or play the first XI and get beaten 3-0 like we did in April

I get he could have done thing differently but that doesn't mean it would have been a different outcome!

and the guy needed to see other players, in a competitive game and, like i say, its not like he threw kids in.

The only true wrongun amongst them was Sanchez, the rest were Hojbjerg, Perisic, GLC, Richi, Solomon, Davies

and we lost on pens.

The Harry Redknapp School of playing your best XI until they drop belongs to his era, not this one

They have to be good enough.

They get recommended to train with the 1st team and he gets his chance to see them, and judges from there.

Smashing it out the park at U18s level proves nothing. The step up is vast so they will need to truly impress in training.

As poor as Gil has been, he may well be head and shoulders above the academy players at this level
