ETH

Two seasons, two trophies.
Put a good team out, our best CB partnership.
And young players.

He’s done ok and nothing more. United are a club that should be winning a trophy every season. An 8th place is bloody awful and very nearly cost United Europe. Yeah he’s had injuries but he should bought more strength in depth where it’s needed instead of prioritising stupid signings like Mount (and he did have a say)

He did very well today, City were dreadful, but is hardly say he’s made a case this season to lead the new era

Mm disagree with most of that, so we will just accept we have a different viewpoint

I’m sure you wouldn’t disagree that 8th place for a club of your stature, history and spending power is frankly awful.

I don't disagree. But so was our injury situation awful.
Also we are in transition with three very young players in.
A new keeper that took half a season to find form.
A new young striker who had to find his place.

Yeah we er, have since ETH has been in charge.

Just watched his press conference, and im right behind ten Hag. Not been good enough this season, but he does have mitigating circumstances.

Seems quite clear to me the journalists knew of the reports of his potential sacking for some time, and decided to sit on it for the day before the final for max impact and disruption. He should be given another year.

Any united team that includes dalot and still wins has to have done well.

I have no grievance with ETH, and I can foresee no difference whether he stays or goes, because it's the presence of too many non-epl standard players (who were already then when he arrived) in important roles that are the major issue/problem not the coach/manager.

But that performance and achievement today was great, however the team out there was not particularly "good".

Rashford alway does well in cup games (at least he does for about 60 minutes),

Fernandes as always was the best player on the park, garnacho is, was and will be a nightmare for many oppositions, AWB was immense, as was Amrabat - all players, by the way, most on here criticise for all the wrong reasons. That's bad enough but they often do do whilst ignoring the real holes in the formation caused by the inadequates that fill those holes so badly.

Today was a cause for celebration because uniteds better more reliable players played exceptionally well today.

Those are the players next seasons squad needs to be built around, but those gaping holes still need to be filled and sharpish.

He’s partly responsible for the signings and in particular the areas United chose to strengthen. The lack of strength in depth you have in defence is ridiculous. He’s had 2 years to get the defence he wants and to prioritise cover for when you get injuries. That’s what other clubs and their managers have done.

Why on earth did he sanction a move for Johnny Evans when United can go for proper strength in depth. What was the Mason Mount signing about? And apart from all of that - his tactics have been dreadful at certain points this season. Injuries or no injuries - he’s effectively been playing a form of basketball - you’ve been that wide open. That’s on him

A one off excellent performance against a City side who didn’t turn up shouldn’t bail him out. And it won’t do

You partly did, but I haven’t city play that badly for 2 years. You’ve played them plenty of times and attempted to use the same tactics - and they usually beat you. Today they had a rare off day. Taking nothing away from United - but their fans are getting carried away and have very short memories
