The biggest losers today are all the LFC fans who were hating watching this game.

They'll probably be glad to not be in the conference

Not if this is anything to go by:

Suppose it can be seen both ways, on a positive note they can focus on the league no distractions and try to emulate the first full season Howe had. Conversely they haven't won a major trophy for so long the Conference League represented a chance to finally win something, though they might've done a Villa and ran out of steam anyway.

Think not being in Europe allows the Newcastle owners to loosen the purse-strings a little more than it does if they were constrained by UEFA rules.

Some of their fans were already planning on the celebrations for winning it.

I was reading somewhere it’s been half a century since they finished above you, they finally do and you still stop them from playing in Europe

Good as I didn't want to lose it but didn't want to win it either because of the curse of not winning the league after a community shield win

Interesting. I guess it's one of those you can look at both ways. Can't really be mad at missing out if you finish 7th tho

They really did drop some silly points away from home, considering how Villa had a fairly inconsistent second half to the season. If I was a Newcastle fan I couldn't help but feel it was a missed opportunity.

We've got to go win yet another trophy now...just to say we've won everything again....
