Chelsea will play a 2 leg play off on August 22 and August 29 to get into the Europa conference league courtesy of United’s FA Cup win.

Been a hell of a week for them, finish 6th, sacked the man finally starting to get things right, relegated to Europe’s pooest competition.
If Todd announces that the car boot sales are back on behind the goal at Stamford bridge then it will be complete

That was the players car park behind the goal wasn't it?
In fact I'm sure it was. There were always plenty of 3 wheeled turquoise cars parked up.

Genuinely happier with that
Lets be real, no-one actually cares about either! But Europa we've done, recently entered twice & won, it's boring to me now.
I'd rather be in neither, but Conference League at least has the intrigue of being a competition we've never been in before + it's basically the Cup Winners Cup's grandchild & that competition is MUCH more special to me as a Chelsea fan than UEFA/Europa.

If you win every single game in the conference league then the prize money is 15.6m Euros - I can see Super Todd wanting to swerve it.
The problem is that the comp is so schitt than unless you refuse to play a group game like Spurs did, it’s almost impossible to be knocked out of pre SF.
I did read a almost guaranteed bull schitt rumour on line that Chelsea would refuse to play in it

There's more than just prize money though. There's ticket and match day sales, more exposure, experience for the squad. Probably a bunch of other factors I haven't thought of.

We are still better off playing in in than not....but it's close

To be fair there's no reason we can't blood squad players & youngsters in it really...save the better players for the Prem games
Also depends on who we draw & travel etc....don't want to be going to the furthest extremes of Europe on a Thursday really
