Promising Celtic youngster Bosun Lawal has been invited to train with the Republic of Ireland senior national team after impressing interim head coach John O'Shea.

Lawal will join up with club teammates Liam Scales, Mikey Johnston and Adam Idah, who have all been included in O'Shea's 26-man group to face Hungary and Portugal next month.

He will then transition back to the under-21s for friendlies against Croatia and England.

I rreally think Lawal deserves a chance in our first team, even get him playing in the cup matches, friendlies, whatever. McGregor was a different animal when he came back to us from a loan spell.

I agree, buy both Idah and Bernardo - They can handle the pressure of big matches and score too. Mentality is more important than ability, there have been plenty in thr past with ability, but they couldn't handle pressure.

depends really mate.

i prefer kyogo to idah, so for me idah starts on the bench.

if oriley doesn't leave then my midfield 3 is mcgregor, oriley and hatate, if anything i think we need a big cdm in there.

12 million for 2 players to start on the bench? questionable.

i also question where bernardo is in the pecking order, he hasnt featured regularly enough to suggest we would pay 6 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I prefer Kyogo on a big pitch. On a smaller tighter pitch he desn't get the space to move in the way that we play now.

That is when for me Idah starts. If teams do a low black play Idah, if they are getting spread we play Kyogo.

ideal scenario to have strikers to play either way

That’s a bit racist…

keen to see what lawal can offer in midfield, he looks big, strong, can tackle.

worth a look in preseason for sure.

Tempered by the fact it was league 1 and they got relegated. When he first came in I didn't think he had anything that others didn't except early physical maturity that black players naturally have. He's worth a look.
