33 goals last season for a Blackburn side who battled relegation in the Championship.

I don't know much about him, however we shouldn't turn our noses up at lower league players. Palace especially have signed Olise, Eze and Wharton.

Bowen, Kilman, Pickford, Robertson, Maddison, Walker, Stones, Gomez, just a few who came from the lower leagues to the PL.

Difference is that Sammie Szmodics is 28 already and this is really his first proper goal scoring season. Those other players you mentioned were showing themselves to be a cut above much younger.

I mentioned Gyokeres last summer as an option from Coventry because he was 24 and had back to back seasons hitting good numbers and looked like he might be ready to make the step up (which he's certainly done in Portugal and European competition).

Other than Crysencio Summerville at Leeds I'm not sure if there's another Championship player who stands out in the same respect that Gyokeres did at the moment.

Fair and Szmodics could be a one season wonder not capable of top level football at all.

However he does look technically good and may be a late developer who can offer a lot as a squad player.

I've heard from Leeds fans that Summerville might be a bit of a problem in the dressing room.
