At the golf club there was a man there I chatted to often, sometimes we would meet at a pub, I'd even visited his home.
Anyway it was a bit of a shock to read local dentist Mr X had been arrested for drug dealing, with a picture of him being put in a police car.
All that time I'd known him , and didn't know he was a dentist.

We have a shortage of dentists in the UK and are importing them from all over the world. A couple of the dentists in the practice I go to are African. Whereas my drug dealer is Caucasian.

In keeping with the OP's golf story.
Two old boys were teeing off on the 18th hole at the local golf course. Into view down the road comes a funeral procession of about ten cars.
As the procession passes one of the golfers doffs his hat as they go past and stands still in respect.
The other golfer says to him "in all the years I have known you that is the kindest thing I have ever seen you do".
He replies, "well she was a good wife".
