After looking like is was most likely to be Cooper for managers job,Potter is now clear favourite.
Really hope this proves to be the case as think he would be anear perfect fit for our club.
Unless of course our director of football gets too involved.
Potter now favourite.

I think if potter had joined 3 years ago id absolutely agree. I’m not sure however that Potter is going to be the right man for the situation we are going to be in. While tactically excellent - he had far far better players at his disposal during his most successful spell at Brighton. He won’t have that kind of quality here - the likes of Cucarella, Gross, Trossard, Bissouma, Caicedo etc
For that reason I think we may be looking at Potter with rose tinted spectacles - exactly the same way as Top and Rudkin are looking at him - an idealistic appointment which reflects where we should be not where we are
With a massive points deduction incoming, we don’t have time to implement an idealistic progressive philosophy. We need to survive .By any means necessary. If that means Cooper or Moyes then I’m not against that
I wouldn’t be disappointed by Potter - but my gut feel is he would struggle here with a club that is in a financial mess and doesn’t have the money to improve a squad which really needs investment to stay up. Corberan with his immense defensive record would be my preference

Tbf when he took over at Brighton they didn’t have most of those players, and he did a decent job changing their style from the rubbish they played under Hughton.
Think I mentioned before that someone that can build on what you were doing under Maresca, but with a more pragmatic approach, could be the ideal solution. Potter potentially fits that mould.

Now the man united management saga is sorted ,I just hope no one in our club even for a second considers Southgate.
Decent man but second rate manager who I believe that no football fan would want anywhere near their club.
