INEOS

I'm predicting that by Christmas there will be banners at Old Trafford against them.

Forget Ten Hag or even the Glazers , all the anger and frustration of the fans will be directed to them when we're predictably struggling to stay in the top half of the league table and getting turned over by Ipswich at Old Trafford.

They had a perfect chance this summer to start their "project" fresh with a new manager and give much needed hope to the fan base for the future but they've decided to put their trust on a guy like ETH

Been consistently saying it on here for months that I just don't trust these INEOS characters to bring Manchester United back to the top again and this is another example for me.

Success driven are they? Yeah ok

Absolutely. A Spurs fan belittling an FA cup win 🏆

Ten Hag’s won as many trophies in two years as Spurs have in about 30.

I personally think ETH deserves to start another season.

3 cup finals in 2 years, 1 top 4 finish.

Last year he lost most of the players he really needs to make his system work.

This season he has to be challenging for the Champions League places, but for me he deserves a crack at it.

Also need to take into consideration that most of the reshuffle upstairs is still not complete, so why rush a new appointment. We're still waiting on the likes of Ashworth and co to officially join.

It's not like there is an Ancellotti or someone else of elite caliber out there to replace Ten Hag with.

I knew what response I’d get as a spurs fan but honestly, why are you comparing the two clubs. I’m talking about ETH’s ability to coach a mammoth like United. Comparisons to spurs are irrelevant. It’s not about us. I’m just saying he should be doing more with the money he’s spent.

He’s had more success than 80% of the league since he joined

Bad league season just gone for sure, but let’s not pretend Klopp, Arteta etc haven’t finished done there as well. Liverpool with a far better team as well.

Utter drivel by clueless armchair fans as per.

We have had our worst injury hit season in as long as I can remember.

He’s disciplined an unruly randomly assorted squad of wanna be prima donnas, dealt with strange and obscure personnel problems with players along the way, and won more cups than any of his predecessors post SAF doing so.

I go week in week out for decades now. No one I speak to at OT wants him out. Only clowns on social media and internet forums.

Ineos have made the right call, ETH is a top manager, working at a dysfunctional club.

I think everyone is making the mistake of measuring progress by silverware. It helps, obviously, because it keeps the fans onside as you build, but can anyone honestly see a discernible improvement in performances since he's taken charge. That's the truest sign of progress. He may have had injuries but so have a lot of the league. It doesn't account for getting routinely outplayed by teams on a fraction of your budget. You allowed teams flirting with relegation to control games and that just doesn't feel right.

He's signed, during his tenure...

Hojlund for 60m
Mount for 54m
Onana for 50m
Antony for 80m
Casemiro for 60m
Martinez for 48m

Amongst many others. How many of them can you say have worked out? Martinez. That's it. Hojlund is young so he has time but frankly, given he's worked with a few of these lads before, it means he's had a real say in who has come in. Have they improved you? Not even close. If he wanted to play a possession game with a high line, why did he bring in Casemiro and persist with Varane? If he's trying to create a team to play the way he wants, he's going a funny way about it. He's reacting to who is being bought rather than demanding the kind of profile he needs.

I honestly think you're delusional if you think winning those two cups is the springboard to a title challenge. Two cups forward, three steps back.

This is correct.

Spurs fans would take an FA Cup win over everything else right now so would probably swap places with Utd.

However, United are an English powerhouse and should really be up at the very top, challenging for everything, but not only that, they should be the pioneering modern ones. I watched United's PL dominance through my 20s and 30s so am witness to how great they were, how great SAF was and how they were able to dominate, not just games & trophies, but also the transfer market.

Their off field strategy has been pretty awful and ETH is complicit in that, some of those signings have his finger prints all over them.

On field there is no clear pathway in terms of style and approach, other than being a counter attacking team.

None of their transfers point to a clear strategy, one which after 2 years should be very apparent and coming to fruition. I don't think winning the FA Cup with 28% possession is evidence of a plan coming together, in fact it almost embodies Utd under ETH - generally inferior with individual moments seeing them through.

That is why I am surprised United fans are happy with more of the same. It just doesn't seem like a long term solution, despite the domestic cups and finals.
