but of course caught the news online about ETH staying. (it didn't ruin the holiday )
But seriously, I'm glad the speculation is over. I know all the comments will have been made, and I'm glad to have missed them also
Whilst I didn't think ETH should stay, I will support him whilst he is still in charge - I think he should improve us next season, but I just don't think he will be the one 'to take us all the way', but I'll be gladly proved wrong. Just hope we can bring in at least the CB, CM and forward we need (as a minimum) and just become a tighter unit all round.
I still envisage someone like McKenna / Carrick / Another, to really get us back to the top, but time to enjoy the Euros, get the signings done and in ASAP, and look forward to a new season
P.S. Go Rory in the golf..................

Not convinced he will kick on either but like you I'm not too big to admit I was wrong if he proves me wrong. I seen too many red flags to feel like the cup final is the turning point sadly.
I am intrigued to see what he does with Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley. Both of them are tremendous talents and I'm hoping are going to be in and around the first team squad next season. I think they've both got the talent required for sure.
Harry Amass is the reason we've let go of Alvaro Fernandez I believe. The club obviously really believe in him and think he's the better prospect.

I don’t think this summer was ever likely to be about new longer term managerial/head coach projects, or will be about a big squad rebuild. It’s too early in Ineos’s project for that.
This summer is about getting the key people in place at the top of the executive management and sporting trees, and then letting them assess the current situation, develop their ‘to-be’ models, and work on plans to bridge the gap, including sorting the structures and appointments beneath them.
Then comes fleshing out sporting strategy, how squad management, scouting, transfers and contracts are going to work, etc. etc.
I think the much bigger and more recognisable sporting changes, as we see them (i.e. in squad shaping and on matchday), are going to start happening from next summer.

ERH does seem to recognise and use young talent, so hopefully if good enough, they can prove their worth. Especially Amass, given our issues at LB, i can see significant improvement in Hojlund after a season under his belt, but we really need another established forward to support or play around him

I agree, I also thought the candidates were underwhelming/ not ready for the job so probably better the devil you know, keep some consistency and add a couple of players who can assist in the longer term project this summer.
