This happened to us under Jose, conte etc although they claimed that they weren't instructing the team to do that (drop back after scoring). We slowly went this way after poch as well if you remember the end of his time with us, the press went.

Bayern, don't press anymore, counter attacking side on the whole. Worst season in 13 years...

England, full of quality players, as soon as the opposition assert themselves we end up in the back foot, unable to press the opposition and win the ball back.

The common factor here ? Our beloved Harry Kane. I've said for a long time he walks around these days and you just can't do that now.

PEH is a good player,he just doesn't suit playing out from the back, taking the ball in the half turn he struggles when pressed so doesn't really fit our style anymore. Seems a top pro and is well liked, it's one of those I won't be celebrating when he leaves.

Messi can afford to be lazy and Giroud had mbappe

England can’t afford such laziness ….we just aren’t very good and work rate is needed by everyone

I think with giroud he almost became an impact sub as he got older.

Messi was never the out and out no.9 as Kane is for us. Messi could always walk around as he had the likes of Alvarez doing the running. Also for a large part of messi career not many teams pressed like they do know. Almost every team does it to an extent.

There were large parts of the game today where the Denmark defence and midfield were completely un-pressured.
