His chance in midfield is gone. He should be played at FB - as you say the other options at FB are limited.

Impressive. You've gone from "can't play him at full back" to "he should be played at FB" inside 2 posts

Trent might have a future at CM but it certainly shouldn't have been at this Euros. If he's played there by Slot and if he impresses in the role, then ok. But until such time he should be seen as a FB. And as a FB he'll create you chances, it's been evidenced season after season in the EPL. Can't see Southgate playing them there from the start though.

Still think the issue isn't in midfield, it's the attackers. Saka, Foden and Kane aren't stretching play and that's why Bellingham is also looking crap.

Get someone upfront who plays on the shoulder or makes smart runs and our midfield will look much better, whoever is in there

Just saw a statistic from Opta - Foden has passed to Pickford three time this Euros, and only once to Kane.

I didnt think Mainoo did anything out of the ordinary but the whole team sped up in its decision making when he came on. The difference in having a midfielder who can play one touch passing and actually play on the ball in midfield was telling.

Mainoo didn't do anything that oliver skipp doesn't do. Pretty sure utd fa s don't rate him

He's better than Skipp.

He is. But that wasn't the question. The question was about what Mainoo did against Slovenia. In my opinion he didn't do anything that Oliver Skipp wouldn't have done against similar opposition.
