INEOS

BREAKING:

INEOS are contesting the regulations put in place by UEFA that are preventing United from signing Jean-Clair Todibo.

They have hired Swiss lawyer Gianpaolo Monteneri to plead before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Do we reckon Chemical Jim has a case here lads? And how long is this going to drag on for, will he be a good signing? I’ve never seen him play.

Get United to sponsor their own stadium and call it Manchester United Old Trafford. I guess you're not allowed to sponsor your own stadium though...

He's switched to Labour,

Exactly, he’s a Tory.

What would be the point in that?!

I wouldn't take to the barricades on the issue of naming rights either. It's a commercial reality in today's football - and the sport crossed the Rubicon long ago in terms of selling out its history and roots in communities, so I don't see this as the big red line you could never cross - but it's still a shame. Bearing the historical name, as well as being historic stadiums, does differentiate Old Trafford and Anfield. I do think if we build a new one and its official name is [Sponsor] Arena, then that's what commentators, journalists and rival fans will call it, and so that's what it will be called. If we go down the path of renovation, then I can see the original name holding out, whatever the suits calls it.

TBH any rules that stop the big clubs from having an advantage is a good thing. But the authorities need to get their sh-t in order because clearly certain clubs are finding loopholes to exploit like the recent deals involving Chelsea, Villa and Everton.

But if United are genuinely offering a fair price that Nice are happy to accept then I don't really see any advantage.

Don't the Red Bull clubs get around it because technically Leipzig aren't Red Bull? The RB in their name now stands for RasenBallsport.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem is, what is a fair price, because it will probably be lower than what Nice would be asking if seeking to achieve best value.

And does that process allow for others to bid and for their bids to be considered. SO if Utd agree £40m and Spurs come in with £45m, any selling club is duty bound to sell for the most if they are acting in their best interests.

Point is that it cannot be a closed-shop deal because that is anti-competitive.

Didn’t Spurs accept a lower bid for Bale from Madrid than United were willing to offer.

Didn’t refuse Spurs refuse to sell Kane to United for more than he went to Bayern for?

I've a feeling Ratcliffe is going to screw the fans over the next few years.

He’s a Tory, what did you expect? It’s in their forte
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed. I bet Levy’s the man he most respects in football.

Not sure about those 2 but Modric went to RM for less than Chelaea offered as we refused to deal with them.

But that's the exception not the norm, and often selling to different markets is a factor. Selling to the PL you'd expect absolute top dollar as that is where the money is

If fact selling to Utd you'd expect the highest of prices as that's what they have traditionally paid.

When did Utd last pay a fair price for anyone?
