A breath of fresh air.........

Georgia have certainly been that this tournament.

So I'm right behind them for team of the tournament.

Come on Georgia.

Stan Collymoore of all people made an interesting observation of this Georgia side - talking about their lateral movement, how they play like a side from the 80’s or early 90’s that haven’t been coached to death about position. They are not bulky athletic robots, they are wiry and can twist and turn and teams are finding it difficult to cope with.

I think the striker has scored in every game so far as well.

That Spain Georgia game will be great to watch, I think Spain will win fairly comfortably but Georgia will have a right go

You have to give a hell of a lot of credit to Willy Sagnol, he is going to be in big demand after this tournament.

Yeah Mikautadze's the top scorer in the tournament.

Massive demand for Willy - what a summer

Chelsea probably already sounding him out for November/December

True Dragon killers these guys... yes by all means do in a few more beasts to further the England cause. St George will be proud of these lads.

If you know your history you will know that Georgia is one of the countries most linked with St Andrew - way more than Scotland. He was supposedly the founder of their orthodox church and they have two holidays in his honour. In fact myriad countries are more linked to St Andrew (if you buy into all the sainthood guff) than Scotland is.

Do you think if you had greater links with St Andrew that you might progress from the group stage?

I like St Andrews links

But no, our failure wasn't even heroic like it has been in the past. I'm more embarrassed than surprised. I was almost a lone voice in expressing major doubts pre-tournament even before the warm up debacles.

Hafta admit I'm poor on the history, just aware of the legend that everyone knows ..
However a quick google search informed that he was born in Cappadocia , Turkey, and fought battles in a region now known as Libya, slaying a ruthless King who delighted in child torture and murder, this same King actually symbolised the Dragon who Georgie defeated and slew in battle thereby earning his place in history as well as on the the cover of The Daily Express which some mistake for a crusader.
Perhaps the Turks should claim him too?
