Done deal - Roca

The slow one Marc Roca has left on a permanent deal to Real Betis.

This is very good news indeed.

The start of balancing the books - undisclosed sum

Roca was one of the two players with recurring loan option so this is huge in terms of getting some power back in the clubs hands again

Sad about Gray from a sentimental point of view.

But the price is crazy and solves any pressure to sell players more important to the team. Archie had a decent first year but wasn’t crucial to the team. I’m not sure he’d be playing midfield more next season and we can replace him at right back.

In the champ, can you really say no to £35million for an 18 year old who made 30 appearances out of position? Only £10mil less than we got for Phillips

All over Twitter now

This could be an end to the gray dynasty

Do you think he would have made the decision without consulting Andy, Frank and Eddie (and possibly Harry as well)?

Know I am saying a lot here, but I think it is crucial to the team that he moved on, we needed a large cash injection to avoid that transfer embargo and we can now start to put together a squad capable of challenging for promotion.
Why not, if we can, hold on to the like of Cree and Willy.
Looks like we will be getting three internationals back in Wober, Aaronson and RK (I know) and we will have cash to spend.

Just feels more krappee that Brentford is his likely destination and similar to when it was Norwich that used to snap up our best players but I suppose money talks, they have it, we need it and this is the reality of not getting promotion.

Interesting question, for me anyway, wouldn't we still have been under the same pressures to sell if we'd been promoted?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but we would have been able to trigger the permanent sale of Harrison for £20-25 million and I'm sure we'd at least have been able to keep Archie but it's not to be and feels like a chunk of Leeds United's soul has been sold but life goes on, Leeds United will go on and hopefully there are a few other exciting young Leeds
stars on the horizon that can emulate Archie who I genuinely wish him the very best and now at least we should expect to see activity regarding new incoming transfers.

Is this the news Don was warning us about?

I was really hoping the club had sold Bamford.

4.2m for Roca.

Roca went on the cheap.
We paid £10m?
2 years of his 4 year deal have passed by so we needed around half what we paid to ensure that we broke even on PSR
