What changes will Southgate make?

After the poor showing in the first 2 games, Southgate made the bold move of making one change, adding Gallagher to midfield, for our final group game.

Foden and Bellingham seemed to change positions with Foden being more often central and Bellingham struggling to get involved from a wider starting position.

The subs that came on, Mainoo and Palmer in particular were a vast improvement over pointless Gallagher and the predictable Saka. They brought a freshness and sparks of life to an otherwise comatosed England.

These 2 have made a strong case for starting the next game.

Trippier has been poor and his use of the ball vs Slovenia was awful and under one attack, their winger literally walked passed him.

Shaw hasnt kicked a ball in anger for 4 months. Surely any involvement from him will be 15-20 mins at the end.

If he doesnt start, does Southgate stick with Trips, try Konsa or Gomes, or switches Walker over to the left and puts TAA at RB, like we ended vs Slovenia?

Wide left - If its Bellingham or Foden then they are out of position and their impact is diminished. I see Bellingham as a player that must be involved in play, most things going through him, but isolate him wide left and he might as well not be playing, bit like his performance the other day.

Foden was very lively centrally, but if both are to start then I think Foden is better equipped to play from the left. Or is one of them dropped for Gordon?

Finally Kane....contributed little but is also victim of mixed tactical messages. No point him dropping deep if we lack pace and runners getting ahead of him. If he's to 'goal hang' then his movement and sharpness needs to go up a notch or 2. Southgate to drop him yeah right!

I suspect Mainoo and Palmer get the nod. Dunno about the full backs and expect him to stick with Foden & Bells & Kane

I've said it before but if we start with Palmer we'll win this game comfortably but that means dropping one of Southgate's favourites and I'm not sure he will and the only change to the starting line up will be Mainoo for Gallagher, but hopefully Palmer will at least get 30 minutes which let's hope is enough time to turn the game in England's favour.
