Went out for an hour and a half, wasn’t expecting it to be over (pun intended) already.

4 weeks now until the test series against Sri-Lanka.
If Root can score well. he may over take Cook by the end of the series.

Oh right maybe not then. well not the series coming up. i believe we play Pakistan away in October in a test series?. them pitches can be ridiculously flat. so i'd expect Root to become Englands leading test run scorer by then

There 150+ scores, easy peasy for the goot.
Windies were pretty game but sadly a few batting collapses cost them. They had very good positions though, first innings lead in the second test and had us 54/5 in this one albeit Wood was one of the wickets. The missed LBW on Root could have meant we found ourselves 100 behind rather than 100 ahead.
Positives for England is the return of Stokes the bowler as well as a few runs. Bashir and Atkinson were big plusses too along with Wood looking dangerous as well as quick.
From a batting perspective, Jamie Smith looks like a top player and his keeping was excellent. Think he's capable of big innings as well as being a guy who can absolutely monster the ball over the rope.
I guess Crawley is the one negative which is a shame as he had been doing alright for the last 18 months. Hopefully SL is a more prolific series for him.
Short pitched bowling to clean up the tail needs to go, full and straight to bring more modes of dismissal into play.
