Apparently he's picked up an injury during the medical.

He was lying on the bed in the Phil Jones Memorial Suite and one of the legs on the bed gave way and he fell off and hurt himself.

The only signing happening today will be his plaster cast.

We will still have Hojlund Rashford Garnacho Bruno Amad and Antony (sadly) to get us goals. It doesn't all fall on Zirkzee.

The defence could be more of a concern. Luke Shaw Martinez and De Ligt could all be in our first choice back 4 and they haven't exactly got great history with injuries.

Hopefully we will buy another defender in addition to De Ligt who is actually reliable fitness wise. Would be a huge risk if we don't.

I'm predicting Rashford to have a bounce back season. He's had a good rest and time to get his head right. Wouldn't be shocked if he starts the season on fire for us whilst the ones late back from Euros / Copa are slowly getting up to speed.

If Shaw stays fit for much of the season Rashford will be a different player too. He often is with Shaw in the side.

Rashford has some great skills and technique. It's just his decision making that seems so bad and always has done. I watch him and often think he should shoot when he passes and pass when he shoots.

He plays likes he seems to have something to prove so IMO can be quite selfish, making selfish decisions. If on form and these fly in then it looks great, but when its not quite working for him it just looks like rank awful decision making. Unfortunately for him his purple patches are few and he seems to get really down on himself/the world when it isnt working, which make his lows more drawn out.

I think this rest will have done him good, but it remains to be seen if he can maintain his levels over a whole season, which has always been his issue.

I hope so. If he has a season close to as bad as last season or 21/22 it will likely be his last at the club.

Hardly ‘optimistic’ if you’re predicting that our new young striker last year that had to settle in to a new team and country is going to score less goals in his second season than he did last year.
