midfielder dilemma

If Wenger finally realises that 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 is the way forward, I will at first be very happy, and then slowly start to wonder how Wenger would rotate our central midfielders.

We all know that in a basic 4-4-2, there are two CM positions, one more attacking and one more defensive. Between those two positions, Wenger has to find space for Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky, Diaby, Song, Frimpong and Coquelin. Now, obviously this group of players will never all be fit at the same time or the world would implode, but surely that's too many players to have to keep happy.

Another problem is the fact that with the exception of Wilshere, Song and maybe Arteta, these are fairly mediocre players at the moment, so Wenger will essentially end up wasting space and time trying to keep bad players happy at the club so they don't become even worse.

And of course, there is the need for another quality playmaker and defensive midfielder, meaning even more players to keep happy. This club could end up with a lot of depth, but no strength in it whatsoever.

its impossible to play 2 in CM nowdays especially on a massive pitch like the emirates.

We would look so open in midfield, defence would be even more vulnerable

Our CMs would tire out the oppostion would outnumber us 3 vs 2

The problem is Van Persie. Hes not a proper striker and as a result it affects our midfield.

If we had a proper pacey, strong striker our midfielders could play balls in behind launch it long etc.

But with RVP midfielders have to intricate football with him one twos etc its alot harder to play with a Van persie type.

Van persie should be playing in behind the striker but he doesnt have the energy/stamina work rate to play there

Not really, most would be happy to warm the bench and we need competition, let them fight for their spot and not just give them what they want.

So John are you saying RVP is no good and should be sold?

I am saying RVP is a talented player but doesnt suit our system.

11 world class players dont make a team.

Which is why i have been begging Wenger to play walcott up front!
