Fatawu is finally confirmed as a Leicester player. Hooray, some positive and uplifting news for once (cue the points deduction).

Just curious as to why it's taken the club two weeks to announce this - 'the Football Club trigged an option to buy the player from the Portuguese champions with effect from 1 July'? Also what 'trigged' means?

It seems one thing that isn't changing any time soon is the quality of the club's announcements.

Probably afraid to announce it as you have no money and are about to be docked points. Such is the farce of prem footy.

It's a sign of how little confidence I have in this ownership that I was pleasantly surprised to get this one over the line. After it took so long to announce it, I think I just assumed that we'd screwed up and he wouldn't be rejoining.

Hopefully he'll have a good season. Apparently Cooper likes to play wing backs, so we could either see him as an attacking RWB in a 3-4-1-2 or as a conventional RW in a 3-4-3. Does still seem bizarre to me that we spent a whole season in the Championship getting used to possession based Enzoball, only to then go a completely different path, but oh well.

Struggling to get too excited about this forthcoming season, which feels unusual after a promotion. Just feels like it has a grim inevitability about it all....

It's why I couldn't really get too excited about last season, I thought that even if we got promoted we'd have a devil of a job to stay up.

I'm actually a bit happier to see the back of Enzoball and get someone in who may be taking a more pragmatic approach. I'd got a horrible vision of us being mullered every week attempting to play Man City Lite with Maresca stubbornly refusing to try something different.

Of course we're also stuck with Vestergaard and Choudhury, neither of whom were very impressive last time in the EPL - we'll see if Cooper can make some use of them. A potential benefit may be that Kristiansen might fit in to the new style. And Wilf has signed a new contract - hopefully he'll be back to his best, presumably in a more traditional DM role.

Kind of the stage where I couldn’t care less to be honest I’m so apathetic about the club. Will any of it matter when we get relegated based on a double digit points deduction and then get hit again in the EFL while being stuck with the likes of Vestergaard?

The club is done and it’s only vacuous fools like Mersey that think we’re turning it around and starting to rebuild. So yeah - I’m sure Fatawu be useful either in the championship or when we have to sell him in 12 months

Anyone know when the points deduction might be coming after the latest appeal? I really don’t want to start the season not knowing the outcome of it.

Good the see Fatawu join - he’s still raw but bags of talent and could operate very well as a wing back. His tracking back is very impressive unlike Mav!

There's some hint that we may see the deduction b4 the first match.

Soon as possible please!

This is doubtful unfortunately as the club is pulling every single legal lever they can to delay and ultimately try and avoid sanctions. They’ve just appealed the decision from an independent committee that the PL does in fact have the right to charge them for the 22-23 breach. That will mean another delay and more uncertainty for the players and staff. Oh and of course definitely no mitigation for being complaint

But we’re a really well run club right? Turning the corner and everything…..
