Ahead of Schedule?

So far a lot of outgoings and house cleaning.

Last season we were late getting signings in:

Ampadu - July 19
Darlow - July 29
Byram - August 5
Rodon - August 10
Piroe - August 24
Kamara - August 31
Gruev - August 31

This season:

Rodon/Cairns/Rothwell all signed before July 17

Are we ahead of schedule?

Not sure it's panic stations yet.

As I've said in other articles, irrespective of anything the 49ers can do, I'm convinced we'll be forced to wait till mid-late August to get the type of players we need......ie. Premier League level.
Cos surely, any such players of any substance would prefer to wait as long as possible to see if they can get a Premier League team before committing to Leeds?

I think we are ahead of schedule, there was no international tournament clogging up the transfer market.

Add to that the fact we'd only had a manager in post for less than a fortnight this time last year, not sure what difference that makes but I'm sure in the house cleaning process it makes a big difference.

Definitely depends on who's going to stay.
If we lose cree and gonoto were behind imo.

Agree. The more we keep the better our chances. Just need to improve depth and quality in a few areas. Can't afford a slow start this time, would be embarrassing if we lost out to Sheff Utd who are on -2. O'Hare and Moore already joined them.

Er, sorry, but I think this is a load of crap!..

The players mentioned up there, were they brought in by the 49ers, or Orta?..

To me when you see things right we're in much better hands than before the 49ers took full control!..

And I do think players now going out will give them more to aim at coming in!..

Sorry, I've been drinking sinse 12uhr my time and I'm now going out again!.

So maybe till morning!.

I wouldn’t describe us as being ahead of schedule. I’d like to see some quality incomings starting asap please.

I certainly hope contingency measures are well in place regarding new player recruitment to what feels like we are going to soon need replacements for Gnonto, Summerville and Firpo.

Looks like Kristenson is not going to be a Leeds player next season which not many fans will lose sleep over and as yet Wober hasn't had a solid enough offer from any other club but again it feels like he will be a similar scenario to Kristenson so yet again the left back situation haunts us with to my understanding nobody linked to us and only Byram able to realistically play there so I really hope a Firpo replacement is on the agenda urgently as even if Wober were to stay with Leeds his injury record isn't great.

The right back situation is possibly a bit better with Bogle strongly linked and looking like first choice for that position but Gilchrist from Chelsea would be a good loan acquisition as he can play all along the back line so again hopefully that rumour has legs.

Midfield looks a little undercooked to me and another new signing there I think is needed which I hoped was going to be Skipp but that looks very unlikely so no idea who we may get now and I was disappointed we didn't get O'Hare.

I can see in attack Aeronson, Rutter,James and Joseph being regular starters if Summerville and Gnonto do leave and then Piroe Bamford and Gelhardt on the bench but I'm secretly hoping there's a new forward on the cards so all in all I think all of us would like to see 4 or 5 more quality signings before the new season starts and then I think we can definitely improve on last August's low points haul and hit the ground running.

It of course all depends on what the schedule is, is it to completely mess up next season by selling all our best players and not replace any of them, sell Cree and Willy by the end of the week and they are miles ahead of it.

I'm still hopeful Wober stays with us.
Keep reading/hearing Farke might use
a back 3 (Rodon/Wober/Struijk).

If we do keep Wober and he buys into
whatever Farke's selling, that'll be big.

Chance him and Aaronson are back
at TA tomorrow. Hopefully so.
