Can he turn it around and become a good signing for us?
I think his signing last summer was met with a mixed reaction. Some were on the fence like myself and others deemed him unnecessary due to his position and overpriced.
The reality is that if we have waited a year we may have gotten him on a free if we still wanted him and as he had little to no impact anyway we might as well have done that.
Paying 50 plus million for a player on the back of an injury hit season only to have another injury hit season sort of sums United up in the market.
Can he turn it around or will we be stuck with another hard to shift dud?

Really? I don't think he was ever a nailed on starter for England.

Just such a strange signing. Why spend that amount of money on a player who was only ever likely to be cover for not only our best but also our most rarely unavailable player? Moreover, given his injury record the year before, it was always high risk. I also found the way he suddenly "fell out of love" with him boyhood dream team very odd. So, I do feel there was something more going on - most likely that Chelsea knew there was a serious injury threat to his career.
I don't think he'll make it. I'm sceptical over his ability to stay fit. I can see him going off on loan in January or next summer.

He played a full 90 mins in every match he was available for in Euro 2020. He had covid for a couple but other than that he was the first name on the teamsheet. That was England's peak when they had the best chance to win a tournament. England were arguably the best international team in the world at that point and Mount was the best player. That arguably made him one of the top 5 players in the world at that time.
I reckon Southgate could get him back to that level for us. His career was temporarily destroyed by the arrogant Bellingham and Foden who have never reached his level for England.

Doesn't need to "... turn it around and becomed a good signing".
He was, is and will remain a VERY good signing. Needs to be selected more regularly, but that bits down to the club and not him. Indeed he should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
