Don’t read too much into preseason, they’ve shown time and time again that results and performances dont really correlate to how teams perform when the season starts.

I think the tour has set us up nicely to make a genuine push for relegation this season

We were pretty good for the vast majority of the first half yesterday (I went sleep at half time so will catch up on the second half later today).

One noticeable difference is our pressing is much, much better and we’re falling into a 4-4-2 out of possession like a lot of high pressing teams do. We’ve been noticeably harder to play out through high up the pitch.

You can definitely see some tweaks to the way we’re setting up out of possession/pressing coordination and we’ve actually made some good chances across all games in preseason.

watched a video of RVN talking about how he was setting PSV up while he was manager there and he had his AM Guus Till pushing right up alongside his CF to press the back 2 of opponents. Mount was doing this last night.

We did a bit of it towards the end of last season too

Will be interesting to see how this will work with Bruno and Xerxes.

I believe so. Obviously there’s a few prem clubs that have had someone from the dynasty with Darius Vassell and Cyrus Christie.

We need another CB and a CM in quick. If Casemiro is starting games regularly we can forget about this season.

None of this suggests he is going to cement his place. He may make the squad. Good chance of that.

Missing chances doesn’t mean we didn’t have a game plan, sounds like Robb hasn’t watched the game or even extended highlights. You can clearly tell we have been working on pressing differently and build up phases.
