So here we are a week away from league football restarting again, its crazy in the middle of the summer when people still on holiday or just about to go etc, but such is modern world.
We've cleared out some fringe players, beens hafted with these loan clauses again, made some money from a few players, lost our great white hope in Archie Gray and also Championship player of the season in Summerville.
We've brought in Rodon on a permanent, Bogle on a permanent and Rothwell on a loan, very meagre spend for a club aiming so high, but last summer's recruitment was far more effective than previous ones so I have more confidence in Bogle and Rothwell than in the Rocas of the past.
There are still doubts over Gnonto, especially with Summerville leaving and if someone came in with 40m for Rutter, would the club refuse it?
One never feels safe with Leeds judgement until the window is actually closed, but if I was Farke I would be saying to owners that we cannot afford such late in/out business as we had last season, we have to hit the ground running.
Pre season for me is about system testing and fitness, not results, but we go into the season with good results that surely help put some of disappointment of last season behind us.
We have a manager who knows how to get out of this division and if we dont do it this season then I think Farke's appointment will have proven to be a failure, so there is a lot of pressure there, but I am confident he can do it.
If we could have one more signing before season starts, who/what type of player would it be?
For me, creative midfielder who can score goals as well.
And finally, hope things work out for Liam Cooper, been a great servant to the club and can't be easy a few days before season starts not knowing the future for yourself and your family.
Where are we at?

Are you talking James Debayo, Stoopo?
He is primarily a centre back for the U21's, it's difficult to judge how he got on last year from my armchair as a lot of their games clashed with Premier League games and therefore LUTV only showed highlights. When I saw him, his performances were patchy some good, some not so. But he's young and you'd expect that.
He's had a good pre-season and hasn't looked out of his depth but I wonder if right back is his position.
If we had a large enough squad, which we don't, a season out on loan would benefit him.
I have a question about DeBayo, his contract seems to have lapsed, anybody any idea what the state of play is?

Yes him. Looked decent but it was a strange second half.

Good summary, Jonty, and welcome back. I was very pleased with our pre-season and looking at the other teams in this division, only Coventry have come close to our level of performance so far.
This season, we should not have to play catch-up for half the season. We look more balanced and even if we lose Gnonto, we have enough depth and versatility to cope. I agree that we need an AM and as usual, a LB, but compared to the rest, we are in great shape. However, if Rutter goes, all bets are off. We have no right to keep him in the Championship, but since he is ours, let's enjoy every moment he is on the pitch.

I'd probably focus on avoiding the bears ....

Hi Jonty hope you’re well.
We look short still, Summerville replacement, creative midfielder and a left back, although Farke seems happy with Firpo with Byram as back up.
Might not have the competition too 3 was last season, but you never know in the champ, who knew Ipswich would be as strong.

Rowe from Norwich seems to be our next target.

Fabrizio Romano reporting that we will be moving pretty quickly on Jonny Rowe, Wolves apparently have shown a little interest but that's as far as it goes.
He's not happy at Norwich I read and in the final year of his contract and would be interested in a move to Elland Road, £7m isn't that far from what Norwich will accept for him.
One down side in signing him is that there have been concerns raised over recent injuries.

Maybe this might shine some light in "where are we at"?

Yes all really good here, last day in Vancouver before heading home, its been wonderful.
You're right, you never know in Champ, we always here its poor division etc etc but its hugely competitive, long and debilitating, look at how well trip 2 did for most of season and it was still a battle for them at the end.
Just hope we hit ground running, just cos we had good season last season is no guarantee we continue that this season.
