Leyton Orient v Bolton Wanderers

84 days later. A 4th season in league one and hopefully third time lucky as Bolton chase the holy grail of promotion to the championship. A lot stronger league this season as Huddersfield, Birmingham, Rotherham join the mix, even the promoted sides are stronger. Have Bolton improved with 8 signings in and losing Jerome, Böðvarsson and Maghoma? Time will tell. A lot more pressure on evatt that's for sure. First up orient away. A repeat of the fixture on 20th January when Bolton lost 1-0 ending a 4 match winning run and close in on Portsmouth and Derby with games in hand. One of the key fixtures which cost automatic promotion at the end of the day. Brisbane Road a tough place to go as Bolton haven't won there in the league since 1990! Team news. In those 84 days Bolton have brought in 8, released 3 and 5 have returned from their loans. Bolton have a first team squad of 27 including 3 keepers. Who is fit and isn't? Mendes Gomes is out until 2025. Those carrying over injury/injured pre season Dempsey, Jones, Williams. Some who are fit but not to start just yet Johnston, Charles, Forino, Southwood plus we don't know the condition of this week's signings Matete, Osei-Tutu and McAtee yet. Likely starting line up. 3-4-3. Baxter. Toal Santos Iredale. Dacres-cogley Sheehan Thomason Schon. Arfield Collins Adeboyejo. Subs from Coleman, Southwood, Forrester, Forino, Johnston, Morley, Matete, Osei-Tutu, Charles, Nlundulu, Lolos, McAtee. Kick off is 5.30 and live on sports.

So Forrester is out injured for the foreseeable having fallen down the stairs, breaking a toe and dislocating another.

Dozy sod, the player should take care in everything that they do. Their lively hood depends on them keeping fit.

Cones, accidents at home, in training etc. Evatt should have a session on avoiding silly accidents and being careful whatever you are doing. It's just common sense.

Bit late putting this on. Rip. Bolton captain when I started watching. Scored the first ever goal I saw at burnden. Saw him loads of times at the burnden 7s even played against him once. Also had monteraze pub with big Sam on Manchester Road which used to go in on match days. So sad aged.77.

So another of the old guard has departed this world. RIP Roy Greaves. I remember him well, he was a good player for us and he always gave 100% he will be sadly missed.

77 is no age these days, I'm only a year younger than him but hopefully, I will be around for a while. I have things to do and look forward to.

RIP
Roy Greaves

I wasn't expecting to hear that sad news. His name used to be pre-printed on the team sheet. It's hard to think of a team from that era without him in it.

Evatt wants to win every game, don't we all?

However, last season's cup games contributed to the build-up of games at the crucial point of the season and it had a direct influence on the position we ended up in.

I would sooner we dipped out of the cup games and concentrated on the main prize. The last two seasons were full of postponements because we were involved in what seems to me now as pointless games in cup competitions. Ditch them and concentrate on promotion.

I know cup games can be useful for bringing players up to speed after injuries, but that said, players coming off the bench is also useful for giving players time on the pitch.
