Martenilli just isn’t good enough. Been saying it for years and he still hasn’t improved nor do I think he can get better.
Hasn’’t improved his dribbling or touch and still can’t pick a pass.
He is constantly either running into the corner flag and loses the ball or running with his head down and loses the ball.
Good option to have off the bench for the last 30 minutes but we badly need to upgrade on him if we are to progress. I’d even put Jesus out LW ahead of him.
Predict that we’ll be asking for a new left winger in January or next summer if we don’t upgrade now

Right sided option is more important to offer Saka some meaningful competition. It's an important season for Martinelli. He's got to perform he had a bad season last time out. I wouldn't write him off yet though he was excellent the year before. Also there were other circumstances last year for he poor performance in general the left handside didn't work consistently because of personal changes. A settled left back and a settled left sided eight will help Martinelli if all that happens then it's probably fair to judge him.
