Predictions for the season 24/25

Admin - could you multi-board please?

Righto - what are the predictions for this coming season? Mine are;

Top 6:

Arsenal (just think they'll squeak it)
Man City (could be much lower if the 115 charges stick)
Liverpool (reckon they'll be a fair way behind the top 2 though)
Spurs (hard to call between these 3 but i don't think Chels will be in the mix)
Man Utd
Villa

Relegation:
Ipswich
Leicester
Brentford (think Toney will go which will impact them)

Top scorer:
Haaland

POTY:
Rice

Young POTY:
Mainoo

Biggest high profile flop of the year:
Rashford (so much talent but just floats about with little impact)

First high profile Manager sacked:
Maresca (probably go regardless of how good a job he does)

Views welcomed.

City - think it might be Peps last season and he will go out with a bang
Arsenal - still no striker
Liverpool - could finish lower, no signings, and we don’t know how good Slot will be in the Prem. The squad remains one of the best though.
United - decent squad
Spurs - Ange doesn’t have attack and defence right but we will score loads so should be good for Europe again
Newcastle - if they get Guehi then they have a great spine with Botman alongside him, Tonali and Bruno and then Isak. Gordon and Barnes are decent as well. No Europe either so should be fresh.

Relegation:

Southampton
Leicester
Everton/Ipswich - can’t decide

Top scorer:
Haaland

POTY
KDB

Young POTY
Bergvall

Flop
Fullkrug - I just don’t think he will fit in at all and will struggle to score initially and then struggle for game time by the end. The wums will be all over me if I get this one wrong though. Caveat: he will score at least twice against Spurs this season.

Manager - Cooper - think Leicester is an unhappy place at the moment

You've been predicting Everton to be relegated for years. I'm sure if they hadn't had points deducted they would have been midtable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everton have stunk out the Prem since Sir Alex was a lad. Dreadful football in a run down old stadium. Let's all hope they finally get relegated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True, they are crap, but for some reason they always manage to stay up. From what I've seen their new ground is going to be one of the best in the prem, tis a shame it's in Liverpool, still it could be worse, it could be in London.

This was a serious article? Thought it was a long winded joke
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah crazee article huh. i mean fancy writing something on a football forum 4 days before the season starts about predictions huh? That would make an hilarious sitcom
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the predictions made me think it was a joke. Rashford was really poor last season, not sure how he can be the "highest profile" flop when he did nothing last year. Rice had a poor Euros and isn't even close to the best player at Arsenal let alone the league.

I apologise if you were being serious, I didn't mean any offense
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you are trying too hard to prove that your initial negativity was linked to anything substantial.

I can't see why Rashford being a high profile flop is so hard to grasp. He's so highly rated and yet can't get in the England Team and plays as if he is hungover for Man Utd. Track back Boss? No I can't do that as I'm the English Mbappe. FFS. He's turning into another Dele Ali and Jesse Lindgaard.

Also is it so crazy to suggest Declan Rice (who everyone raved about last season) should be POTY if, and it's a medium size if, Arsenal win the Prem? If Arsenal do win it then I'd guess the pool of players to win the POTY would be either Odegaard, Saka, Rice or Saliba and as defenders rarely get the headlines I'd say that one is unlikely.

Get over yourself mate and rather than try and pick holes in a reasonable post - try and make a positive contribution.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair enough but you have kind of proved my point. Rashford can't get into the England team and is playing like he's hungover for United, I agree, which is why I don't think anyone would be surprised if he doesn't have a great season. If Arsenal win the league, I agree, Saka, Odegaard and possibly Havertz/Jesus would be ahead of rice for POTY and that is if you completely exclude the rest of the players in the league
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leave off, you have no reason, other than to prolong an argument, to believe Jesus would have a better season than Rice. Jesus for all his hard work and running couldn't, when fit, hit a barn door with a banjo.

The style Rice plays is similar in some ways to players like Bryan Robson. Roy Keane, Rodri, Vieira and Kante as he never stops running and gets stuck in. It is a very English way of playing and the UK media love him for it.

Would he get so much praise if he played in Spain or France? Nah probably not but he doesn't so (i can't be bothered to look) I bet he is in the top 10 faves for POTY at the bookies.

TBF I've had a mare there, I meant Martinelli rather than Jesus, no idea how I've got them the wrong way round

I'm not going to argue, it's obviously different opinions and I mistook it for a WUM article (my bad)
