With the news that Shaw is going to be missing for at least a month hitting the headlines yesterday what options we we have at left back other than Dalot and Mazraoui? Malacia is still MIA and Amass is still pretty raw so I propose Antony. I think, as a collective, we all need to give up on the hope of him making it at United as a No10 so this alternative role would suit IMO.
This is what he'd bring:
Left foot
Tenacity
Hard work
Not being at RW
Technical ability
Can follow instruction
Hasn't killed anyone
The realisation he has to play well there to have a future at United.
What says you?
Antony at LB?

But he isn’t going to be any good at RB is he.

Well we would be playing him at left back which at this point I prefer a 17 year old above all the options we have.
The real problem would be if he would accept the role but if we could manage him at the position. Its clear that the position has very little to do with defence these days.

Both were a lot better footballers to begin with though. Being a sh-t winger isn’t going to give you much chance of being a good fullback.

This!
Plus had the discipline, will to win and desire to play and track back! They would play anywhere in the team for their manager and their team mates.
We need to stop fixating with accomodating players because of their price tag. Not all players are guaranteed to be a success, sadly for Utd we tasted more defeats than success on the recruitment front. Let's just cut our losses and get rid of the player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't "cut your loss" for a 80 million player. You make sure you get some value for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're making very little sense.
How do you get value for a player we overpaid to begin with? Factor in his poor form and off field shenanigans and you'd be lucky to get £40m for a one dimensional player.

What value can you make from him though when he’s not very good? He was valued at £25m by our own scouts months before we bought him and his reputation will have declined even more since then.

25m to 80m?! Lunatics running a mental asylum, it really is.

Red Tom, I don't think you understand what "cut your losses" means!
Here's a definition:
"abandon an enterprise or course of action that is clearly going to be unprofitable or unsuccessful before one suffers more loss or harm"
So, in the context of Antony, we would be willing to take a loss on the purchase because retaining him would not benefit us especially paying the massive salary he's on.

John Murtough at his best.
He did it with Hojlund.
Hojlund was apparently told by Atalanta he could leave for a CL club if someone paid £35m.
Murtough steams straight in and tells them we won't be held to ransom and won't go over £60m.
And we still ended up paying £64m with add-ons of another £8m...

Shambolic. Any other club would fold with such incompetence and wastage of resources.

I'm trying to tell you, we cannot sell him. Not even for free. They will have to pay his wages which no will pay half. Look at AWB, we had to compensate for his reduced wages from what we got for him. I suspect we will have to do the same for Antony only no one will even want to pay for him (ETH maybe if we sack him and someone else signs him).
We are stuck venge. Look at Casemiro, those players are facking hard to sell.

No, that's not exactly what you were telling me earlier!
You do know we cut our losses with AWB? It's a price worth paying for our past sins. The likes of Casemiro will be sold for a small fee or on a free if we have to; even agreeing a severance with the player. All depends on what's more important; holding on to something we won't use or won't elevate the team to where it wants to be or we act ruthlessly in pursuit of building the ideal squad. The argument you've presented is a fallacy.

Not how I remember Young being labeled when he played LB for us. And Young started brightly for us.
I'm not saying it would work. Just past expamples of players who did change position and did all right. Young wom an Italian league title and despite then wabti5hin to be kept on, he returned to England.
