Try something a bit different ?
Obviously, a disappointing result last night but not the end of the world. Thought there were lots of positives to take from the game, esp in the 1st half despite the missed chances.
Personally, I think Spurs have bought well this summer, we have lots of good players both in attack and defense. This isn't an attack on Ange but to me, a couple of tactical tweaks might see us get a bit more from all the possession we have.
Having watched City the other day it was noticeable how often their wingers switched sides (I think it was Doku & the young Brazilian kid). While I appreciate Son cuts in occasionally and bends one in the corner with his right peg... Id love Ange to switch Son & Kulu during the game and place the focus on quality/ early delivery into the box for Solanke to attack.
Solanke is a big unit, has good movement and is very much a six yard box player. We saw what happened last night when Madders put a quality early ball in. Bon Son & Kulu are excellent on their left and right foot and we have seen what can happen when you have midfielders (sarr, madders, Bergvall) capable of making late runs into the box. It just feels like we sometimes waste so many good opportunities trying to score the perfect goal.
With our wide players staying high and wide on their strongest side, it creates more space centrally for the likes of madders, Bergvall to play in (So often much of our attacking play looks so congested/too central & too complicated).
Another benefit might be that there's less need for our FBs to be so high, leaving so much space behind them (Its still fine for them to step into MF but hopefully not leave us so open to counter attacks.
In short Id like our wide players to focus on putting dangerous early balls into the box ahead of scoring themselves.... I think the main beneficiaries would be the likes of Solanke and attacking midfielder's coming from deep .... just mix it up a little.
I'd start the Everton game like this.....

***************Solanke************
Not a radical change but it feels like Ange's subs are always like for like and we do the same things over and over with different players making the same mistakes.
Is Everton at home a good place to...

The only something different I'd try based on yesterday's game is Moore instead of Werner at backup RW

Couldnt do any worse..... Werner is such a pointless signing when Eze was there to be had early in the window (before they sold Olise) and you have Moore as back option. I would rather see Oderbert gets minutes ahead of Werner (such a crap footballer)

Not sure about lots of positives cause it reminded me quite a bit of last season with the struggling to create real meaningful chances and the inability to keep a clean sheet. That poor defending for the goal was a big red flag.
Main positives were young subs and Maddison's performance.

agreed about the missed chances...... Bergvall looks a proper player, We know Gray is gonna be good at this level and Madders was great for an hour. Would really like to see Bergvall & Madders in the same team but not sure how we make that work.
Sometimes wish we could just go back to an old school 442

Strength in the middle of the park, FBs provide the width and let the others all play off a central sriker when we have the ball

Bergvall is very exciting. Has that sort of effortless natural ability on the ball like Dembele and Modric had. He'd be a good outside shout for our player of the season.
Maybe he can start against Everton? As for trying something different in this game...hmmm how about winning? That would be different.

think Odobert is there as cover on both wings. Ange still might use Werner instead though, will never stop annoying me we go him again on loan for another year

If you can't beat Everton you might as well pack up and go home.
